It's really only 24-28 yo players who deserve that sort of coin

Therein lies Tom Scully's problem

Players at 27 are in their prime and best positioned to help the young list.....

Harry... No

Not because of age, but he's an athletic back who is similar to Stanley, Fisher....

We need a big bodied FB

Geelong use Lonergan, not Harry in that role

He's about four years too old IMO.

Would be a pointless waste of money.

I would probably prefer to target a couple of really prime mids that are about to break out. I think Dangerfield just signed but guys interstate that would see a home town club would be nice. Hannerbery, Gaff, Chad Wingard, Hamish Hartlett, Nat Fyfe, Alan Christensen etc. We should be pushing others salary caps hard- they did it to us when we were up now it's our turn.

Hibberd is one of those guys that is flying under the radar but is like number 5 in the AFL on the ranking or something.

I would rather Brown as a free top up for the gorillas and get some classy ball winners.

I always thought when Ball was looking for a trade that we should have had a go at acquiring him then i.e. Ball and (perhaps) a draft pick or two (heck, we didn't get much in the draft from our picks anyway) for Taylor. But of course, we ended up with absolutely zilch. Thank you, RL and co.

Getting him next year seems too much of a long shot. Not sure he'd even want to play for St Kilda. Although, there's a chance Milne may be retired by this year's conclusion.

A lot of talk of poaching young player, only trouble is won't it have to be via trade? So what do we lose in the process.

Think a player must be signed with 1 club for 8+seasons. If right then all FA are pretty much going to be aged atleast 26, so might as well wait until we are ready for a run before we throw money at someone.

In all honesty, I'd be looking to raid GWS and Gold Coast at the end of the season for any high draft picks who want to come home.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

these days clubs seem to allow players to go where they want if they leave. No more looking for best deals it seems.

Taylor is 27 and what is a KD? A Kim Duthie?
In an alternate universe, KD is ex Richmond rover, Kevin Dartlett. He was known for his beautifully coiffured head of hair and his unwavering unselfishness in giving away goals to team mates with astute handball. After his retirement, he became a totally unannoying commentator and member of the rules committee. His unshaking devotion to the game's culture, fans and sense of contest has ensured the game thrives in the 21st century, as he refuses to give in to moves to soften the game.

To bad we are stuck in this universe, lol.
