He was the fastest guy at draft combine, would be the fastest at our club and in the top few in the league...

"Saad won the repeat sprint test in 23.64 seconds, the fourth-best time in combine history."

40 goals in his first 26 games... No one can defend his game tonight, but how brave of you to come out now and write him off.

Tell us about Minchingtons games this year? You said he understands the game, tell us more?

Why are we developing another forward pocket player?

Milne defied the odds, but it's not how modern footy is played.

Small forwards MUST rotate through the midfield surely, the notion of one position for entire game won't see us catching up quickly.
I agree, not sure about the future of the specialist small forward... I guess they might be hoping they can become midfielders, Christiansen, Stokes, Motlop all started as small forwards...

Walters was killing it for freo this year without playing in the midfield. I guess they just need to be good enough, Saad certainly isn't there yet, but it's not his fault he was drafted. Why did we play 4 small forwards this year? We have issues.

Excuse my ignorance, but why not chuck Saad in the middle?

Where to start...

Doesn't have the tank
Fumbles too much
Can't read general play
Doesn't win his own ball
Makes poor decisions
Can not even handball on his left side, that is embarrassing

I still have hope that Saad could be a good small forward - his pace and accurate set shots are big weapons and he provides far more defensive pressure than the rest of our forwards. But he's a specialist small forward who very rarely gets the ball outside the 50m arc. He doesn't have a good footy brain and needs the ball to be given to him or to have a very clear objective (ie: ball goes over pack, run onto ball, kick ball through goals). His decision making is terrible and he runs himself into trouble far too much. But any small who kicks 28 goals in their first 16 games deserves a bit of perseverance.

10 supercoach points.... if he doesn't get a spell.... something is very wrong at the selection table....

we need to get competition for spots back into the side.... give the small forward spot to TDL, make saad know there are no free rides

Yeah was poor yesterday regardless of position.

I'm not sold on Saad as yet. Think he is missing something... Has speed but lacks being able to dodge/weave. It's probably not a show stopper, just more annoys me.

for someone that tests so fast he plays incredibly slow, rarely makes use of his pace, gets caught a lot
unlike Rhys who seems to be really learning to use his pace at the right time
nice to have someone in the fwd50 that kicks straight, but I'm not impressed by his tackling, misses tackles and gives away frees

he is horribly out of form, but i think he is a very handy footballer when on song... should have been dropped a few weeks ago, to go back and work on his defficiencies but instead Watters keeps playing him...

Ditch the mentor, and give him the responsibility.

Hard enough for Milne to get a touch, let alone teach Saad how to get one.

One specialist forward is enough, if not outdated....let alone two.

Play Saad and then compliment him by rotating the likes of Armo, Steven, Joey, Ray through there.

Hardness would be the issue I reckon.

There are only so many players who can get clearances on a regular basis because you can get your head knocked off.

It's why Goddard can't do it. And why Stephen Powell could. It takes a special player. NDS can sometimes get a centre clearance because he has clean hands for a ball that gets to him but only players like Hayes and Ball can make that ball theirs. It's a really tough job.

Milne is now playing through the middle more anyway and he isnt effecting Saads form at all. Saad is effecting saads form. Ditching Milne will not help Saad. he still wont get a kick the way we are playing. Id ditch saad and let him try to get some confidence back.

When the midfield is getting absolutely slaughtered each week, being a small forward is a nightmare. That said, Saad probably needs a spell, and we need to bring in someone who can play in the midfield as well.

Whatever is said about Saad, and he did have a shocker, please don't replace him with TDL. Why TDL was recruited is beyond me, Watters must have seen something at Subiaco that TDL hasn't shown at Swans or Saints. He's a gun at state league level (have seen him in Canberra in NEAFL) but far too soft at the top level.
