Well done Ashton, you just showed the more experienced and highly paid players how to actually play a good innings.

And congrats to fellow Sainter Kathy who rang SEN and gave Andy Maher the good news as to who the kid barracks for-he was less than impressed but it made my day.

A spin bowler who barracks for the Saints.
First international game is an Ashes Test, where his debut is unforgettable.
If we find out his favourite food is baked beans, they need to lock his mobile phone and put a GPS tracker on his ankle. Watch out, ladies

What an innings but does he play in the next test if he doesnt get any wickets. To be honest he probably shouldnt but I suppose he must. his job though is to get wickets. The end result of a win or a loss may decide if he plays. If we win then he baically the reason. If we lose and he cant get wickets then maybe he is part of the reason.

Still it was a great effort from the Mckinnon cricketer and junior Ormond footballer.

Warne debuted against India.

Agar played with freedom, sometimes it helps to be 19.... Phillip Hughes made a century in both innings against Steyn and Morkel in his second test. He is a better bat than #11 and his FC average of 30+ indicatedes this.

Very exciting, Test cricket is just awesome.

Nah, bat him at number 5, then it doesn't matter whether or not he's a wicket-taker.

Loved his attitude on getting out.

No outward signs of emotion, throwing the head back, swearing, just a bit odf a smile to Phil Hughes like as if to say "Oh well, tough luck".

Great attitude. Really refreshing.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

As I said.... The advantages of youth.

A young Michael Slater was carefree and exuberant ..... Then he was dropped, and became a tormented soul for the final years of turbulent career.

Young Agar, looks relaxed and even better, talented!

Better than Slater at what? Surely after one innings we arent saying he is a better bat than Slater. Im sure he bowls better though.

Slats is my favourite batsman of all time just about... Read both of his autobiographies too!

His only test wicket was Waqar Younis. Has Ashton got one yet? 8-)

Great innings though. Played with flair, not afraid to take it up to the bowlers, plays well off the back foot against the quicks, and used his feet well to Swann. Unlucky to miss the ton.

Who said he was better than Slater??

70 odd tests, 5000+ runs, at 43

His first century was at Lords and was a huge ashes memory... The he finished his career on a low... My point about the advantages of youth, and not having a care in the world.

Agar is relaxed.... And even better than that.... He is talented.... Nothing to do with Slats

Got no idea how anyone could read it any other way.

Self belief is interesting....

Many young players haven't got it..... And battle with confidence issues in their development.... Jack Watts, Rhys Stanley

Some have it, and take advantage of the freedom of youth combined with talent

He definitely plays next test, Cowan makes way and he cat bat at 7.
Haddin was supposedly half a chance to play as a specialist bat according to some scribes so he can bat at 6.
