What's the story with Wright being dropped? Maybe the club doesn't rate him as highly as some on here do.

Why would they say omitted?

Wasn't Wright Ballantyne's opponent for a fair part of the match? That could be part of the reason.

I feel like we are too tall and carlton are too small. Still feel were short on midfield rotations. Prefer one of Wright or Ross for say Hickey. 3 ruckman is too many.

Ross has been moved from the emergencies and replaced with Webster.

I think Jimmy must play or they wouldn't bother?

Don't think so. Since he had his jaw broken he's been a different player. Seems to me he's been carrying an injury of some sort - surely not just a sudden and massive form drop?

He's young - if whatever reason this season is shot for him so be it, I'm pretty confident he will be firing again next year.

I certainly hope that he does play. We need more players who have pace and can kick accurately

Agree. Would be a good replacement for Milne as a late change.

Why would they put the club and Milne through all this publicity and then pull him out. maybe they decided Ross needs to play at sandy this week and Webster needs a rest and he will be the emergency who doesnt play this week or maybe Jimmy is out. Cant see the point of pulling Milne out of the game now.

He even looks slow at VFL level

I cannot see how Wright was dropped on form - his intensity in first half against Freo was great, skills & effiency in delivery were good - and if looked a lot quicker than Hill when he was chasing him down in first quater.

can only assume it's just a match up thing he is still playing good enough footy. The one where he landed on his back looked terrible but he seems unrestricted by it soimagine he is fit and he seems to have kicked a gaol at Sandy so must be right to play.

Wright was badly beaten by a small AFL forward and it would have happened again if he was on one of Carlton's smalls

That was floated yesterday. Limits their mids by one which helps. Means that Henderson will play forward along with Rowe. Watson done back to help out Jamison.

I didn't hear about Robinson yesterday, yes that does restrict their mids, also with Murphy only back last week from a jaw injury. Henderson/Rowe very dangerous up forward if that's how they line up - I thought Henderson might start off on Riewoldt.

Wright is warming up with the Saints before the game tonight.

Why would he play today for sandy in case there was a late change tonight?? Seems silly!

He only played a half.

Perfect warm up if he was going to be brought in as the sub.
