Kosi,s still a legend!!

Post: # 1361304Post Greg T »

Well maybe not so much on the field anymore,
But what a great article on the saints web site re this man
Even though his value has diminished on the field, his mentoring role
For the younger crew should be acknowledged, as his contribution to the St.K F C.
As Rooey said, only 4 % of players reach the 200,
So I dearly hope this great saints man gets there by years end...
A great career cut short by some serious injury,
Would be great to keep him at the club next year in a coaching/mentoring role..
Long live the Kos man ....

Sorry, Kosi was a great player and is a great club man. The only legends this country has are in the military cemeteries scattered around the globe.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Kosi was a good player, but not a great player. I still think we should of moved him off in 2008. But nonetheless we didnt, im fine with that. Will be sad to see him go though, not so much about on field, b ut around the club.

Great in patches of his career
2001 at 18
2005 for Hal a season until injury
2009 48 goals

Ok at other parts of his career

Sometimes a career can be measured by more than statistics, he was integral to the fabric of the player driven culture of the 2004-2011 finals campaigns and teams.

Wait so has it been confirmed he's retiring? That article definitely made it seem so even saying, "in what would will be his final year at the club" . I didn't think I'd miss him much but if that's true I have a very empty feeling in my gut. I can only imagine what it would feel like if Rooey or Lenny retired :(

Agree with the OP. I had a little bit to do with Kosi and the others when he was first drafted and for the next couple of years after - he was the bloke selected by the club to organize those drafted with him and then to look after those drafted in the next couple of years. Always has been a quality person who was very unlucky with injuries. I think we only ever got to see small glimpses of what could have been on the field - but off it they don't come any better.

Seems like the 23 will be passed on ,maybe a good one for the "Spence".
SW mentioned a cull in October,so Kosi,Milney,Blake ,even Len was mentioned.

kosi is an astoundingly lucky human being

good on ya kosi

200 games....it defies logic....astounding a player like him could get to 200
and we are foolish enough to question why we didnt win grand finals

You are suggesting Ross Lyon, a very astute football man

Kept him on the list and played him in a key post for 5 years was wrong and kosi was lucky

I think people underestimate his presence on the field.. When he was fit he was a great target that complemented roo. If kos wasn't marking it at least he provided some physicality which occasionally almost killed roo ,but the best teams have two big targets and when we were playing good footy so was kos. Going to miss the big guy...

Hope he stays on to coach our forward line and maybe teachn them how to kick straight..... Was always more confident with Kosi kicking for goal...

It's in the eye of the beholder.

I think he is incredibly brave.

Regular trips to the neurosurgeon, further head knock scares, not many guys would keep pulling on the jumper.

IMO he spilt as much blood for the jumper as Luke Ball, only difference was one was prepared to play a team role to make the team shine, whereas the other wanted to play a role where they shined.

Team people like that shouldn't be underestimated.

I truly hope he makes his 200th, even if its as the supersub.

If we won't keep him, another team may put him on as a backup. Like the dogs...

Absolute legend. Has given more to the club than most and according to other legends of the game he has a very smart football brain especially on forward setups.

Have a look at the successful clubs and you will find that their retired legends never really leave the club completely and always happy to help out and give something back. To me that is a true legend and a champion person, hopefully some of our stars from the past decade give back long after they retire.

The Da Vinci code is challenging... Yes please answer this.

Would actually like to see Kosi stay with the club next season at Sandy. Not on our list but on there's and play on form. Or on our reserves if we get them.

Would be good to see him mentor another year longer

Don't you judge games based on statistics?

He was a brilliant CHB in his first year.

Absolute legend in what context? Certainly not based on on-field performances. Based on what? Being a good bloke.

Don't ever quote.... Wish no one did, the I would never have to see your post at all P66?!

It's not difficult to work things out, is it? If I had to make a guess (if I was a half intelligent human) I would think I was referring to ralphsmith's post commenting on how lucky Kosi is/was..... AFL players do not get to 200 games through luck IMO

BTW why do you bother replying to my posts? is it in the hope someone quotes it?? Because if not, I won't ever read it?! It's bizarre and like you arguing with someone paying no attention.... Strange

What is more strange it you have me on ignore but continue to comment on me one way or another. Now please quote so people know who you are repling to. And you are paying attention. We all know that. Weird.
