Siposs is very lucky. Do like the outs though. Stanley needs to try and get some confidence back.

Yes Siposs lucky, heard that he had not set the world on fire at Sandy.
Wonder whether Roberton might be a late out ?

Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
Have a look at our forward line now. Finally only one true small forward in the side and he is one of the greats. It has taken to long IMO but at least its finally happened. it doesnt look good for a few smalls staying on the list next season.

Has Schneider been picked for Sandy. Would love to know if he can put a couple of games together.

Strange it's happened now after we appear set on our spot on the ladder...plugger66 wrote:Have a look at our forward line now. Either they are ignorant, which is a worry, or they did it on purpose so the mids would tire and we'd lose

Or both us know nothing about footy. Actually I havent got a clue but I trust your opinion.
Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
I reckon there was a plan to create goal-kicking midfielders by getting small forwards and turning them into mids. If so, I reckon that's basically been a failure and hopefully this means they're giving up on it and will move on. Next plan should be to get more mids into the side by drafting mids.SainterK wrote:Strange it's happened now after we appear set on our spot on the ladder...plugger66 wrote:Have a look at our forward line now. Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
I reckon it's been more a case of giving them every opportunity to prove themselves. Can't claim they weren't given a good chance to prove themselves or give SW a good look at what works and what doesn't.SainterK wrote:Strange it's happened now after we appear set on our spot on the ladder...plugger66 wrote:Have a look at our forward line now. Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
Not surprised to see Stanley dropped. His confidence must be shot to pieces. Reckon he'll stay in the 2's for at least a couple of games now.
Sippa was a bit of a surprise.....didn't see that one coming. Would have thought Ross or Ledger would have been before him. Not sure whether Roberton will play. If not, I reckon Dunell will come in to replace him!!

I thought Seb Ross might have done enough over the past fortnight to earn a recall. And where's Wright?

HF Dal Santo Riewoldt Montagna
Basically what we've been wanting all year… mids resting as small forwards.
Hard game to test it out on… hopefully we see a deeper midfield at least.

Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
agree 100% some of these guys need a handful of games string together, rather being in/out trying to get a handle on the pace of the aflCairnsman wrote:I reckon it's been more a case of giving them every opportunity to prove themselves. TO be honest I am even a little surprised we are NOT going in with small down at kardinia, it will probably be wet and windy which is not good for tall forwards

They are having a look at Siposs - can he or can't he make it at AFL level. His Sandy form doesn't have much to do with it.

Siposs is lucky- needs to lift his intensity a lot if he wants to be a regular, and Watters needs to settle him in one position.

Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
Siposs has a career. He can play. Stanley is a dud. Time to admit it and let him go.
also get rid of Hickey ... the guy is shocking. No skill. None. Why did we get him? GCS must be laughing it up at us.
Blicvas or whatever wouldve been better and for nothing! Wake up saint recruiters!! FFS!

Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
Wow, tough critic there. FWIW - Stanley is not a dud - he is just not a defender's a#seh@le. He should be getting a game on the wing instead for mine. Good mark in attack, has pace.
Hickey shocking?!? Really. Thought he won the hit outs last week. Pretty good at ground level too. Oh, and he took a mark which should have turned the game, except that the mark was incorrectly paid to the third man up Westhoff.
Gotta give tall players years to develop. That's just the way it is.
The rest I'll drink to.

Yeah Stanley could be a winger ... maybe. Hickey won tap outs? is that enough this day and age? he cant kick AND its FOOTball!
Maybe in time i hope ... we wont get rid of him so can only pray.
