I heard we offered them a deal for Delaney and Mullett. Mullett looked awesome against us too. He's a young mid fielder would anyone do that deal?

Clubs dont like using the PSD draft anymore unless forced to. Gives you a bad reputation in tading. Less and leass players are going in the PSD.
Yeah but why? The PSD exists. The rules are the rules. Hardly our fault for using the rules in our favour when we get a high draft pick.
'bad reputation' is complete codswallap imho. Clubs are calculating and rational when it comes to trades and do it on an annual basis and use the rules to suit themselves. Not sure we are all of a sudden going to be holier than thou . If there is something wrong with the PSD - its up to the AFL to change the rules .
Previous years dealings count for nothing. The theory that 'we played hard on Luke Ball so clubs wouldnt take us likely' for instance was a complete crock of sh*t.
Noone is weeping for us for us being sold a pup for Lovett.
Exactly con. Everyone knows we regret letting ball go for nothing so it was a complete waste of a player in the end. That deal should have backfired on ball and the pies if melb picked him up but for whatever reason they didn't . He would have been perfect for them. What was he gonna do ? Not play for a year?

Lol at North from here
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-09/t ... -wednesday

North Melbourne quickly refuted a report it had offered its second-round draft pick, currently No. 26, and key defender Luke Delaney for St Kilda midfielder Nick Dal Santo.

Carl Dilena told SEN's Morning Glory North's second-round pick was not on the table, saying the Roos' talks with the Saints remained at a "stalemate".

"If he's (Dal Santo) a free agent, they'll get compensation through the draft, but we weren't looking to give up other draft picks."

North's preference is for the Saints to agree to release Dal Santo as a free agent, but St Kilda has yet to decide whether it wants to part with the three-time All Australian.

It is understood St Kilda is trying to keep negotiations on Delaney separate from the Dal Santo talks.

Delaney's hopes of a quick passage to Seaford will fade significantly if he is in drawn into the complicated Dal Santo deal.

“If he’s (Dal Santo) a free agent, they’ll get compensation through the draft but we weren’t looking to give up other draft picks.”

So you want something for nothing you cheapskate and why should we take that risk. Good luck with that.

The onus is now on St Kilda according to Dilena.

Err, no..the onus is kinda on you pretty boy. We have something that you want and you need to make us a good offer that we like. It's called N E G O T I A T I ON. Comprehende? You must have missed that subject at Business School. Pay up or shut up.

“It’s a little bit of a stalemate at the moment. St Kilda’s thinking about it (North’s offer) and we’ll know in due course.

We're not thinking about it horse face. We've made up our minds. We know exactly what we want. Which is a first rounder or you give us the guy with the bogan sounding name. But of course we'd take both but we're reasonable people.

“Next couple of weeks, it could drag out a bit. Hopefully they (St Kilda) can make up their mind on what they want to do and we’ll move forward.”

Not really. We're not dragging anything out as we know exactly what we're after. You have until COB Friday to make up your minds and if you don't, it's astalavista.

I say dal + 21 for pick 8 + delaney.

Thats fair i reckon.

That leaves us with 3, 8, 17, 37 - thats good picks if we use them wisely.

Well a first rounder is. Im not sure of the rules but they must use a first round pick. People seem to think they can trade for another first round pic and then trade away pick8. That could be right.

Play hardball with North--we have nothing to lose here, as we can get Delaney to walk to us for nothing. West Coast played hardball with us on Brown, and we nearly gave them two picks in the mid-20s and Cripps. North has everything to lose here, as Dal won't walk--and even if he does, we will get a compo pick.

sorry yes - youre right. theyd need pick 17.

so would have to be dal + 17 for 8 + delaney

Con. Pick 8 is locked into McDonald. It is not available.

North would still essentially be getting dal for Delaney... They'd do it for sure.

Still can't see it... Reckon they have already spent 8.

Nope. They have to use their assigned first round pick.

In that case. Forget North. Only worth trading for Dal for something inside pick 20 imho.

There is a reason f/s noms are done prior to trade. North will be using pick 8 on Mcdonald....

Stiff sh!t and it’s not our problem.

They can manufacture a first round pick by trading their players to other clubs.

We shouldn't give North anything for Delaney, he will go in the PSD to us anyway.

Pick #26 for Dal is utter crap, if Thomas can get a compo pick of #12 or whatever it was.

I'd rather have Dal at the saints anyway. Screw North.

I'd rather make sure we get Bruce from GWS.

As I understand it WC Eagles bid their 1st rounder 6? for McDonald so North must use theirs (8) to secure him
