Re: Jack Billings
I would hope a pick 3 'can be pushed into the midfield'
I would want a pick 3 to play in the midfield.... Saunders, Minchington an Curran can push in there....
We need an A Grade Midfielder

I was given a stern talking to by the mods and there was some talk of a public hanging from which i received a last-minute reprieve after a call for clemency to the Governor was made on my behalf.

Re: Jack Billings
I do...
We have fwds...
Winguard would not play fwd at StK and played Mid as a Junior

Re: Jack Billings
Billings will end up in the midfield. He's very smart in the contest and showed he can win plenty of footy in the midfield, playing the last few TAC games in the there an racking up possessions at will.
The problem (good problem to have) is that he's such a dangerous player forward of centre that you want him playing in that dangerous position, kicking to your deep forwards (skills are elite) and snagging goals himself (goal sense elite - set shot and broken play).
Wingard is a very good comparison - Both elite marks for their size, skills both elite (Billings more dual sided) and very good 1v1 ability.
I'm reading a lot of rumours he's our #1 pick for selection 3. If he's avail we'll choose him, and for good bloody reason.

Re: Jack Billings
Interesting comment on radio by Adelaide recruiting manager David Noble who said this year the first few mids were slightly ahead of the next 14 mids who were pretty much all on par. Of that group of 14 every club would rate them in a different order. Sounds like it's going to be one of those years where we are going to look back and wonder how b grader player x was taken top 10 , whilst a grader player Y went at pick 15 or 18. Lots of hindsight heroes in a year or 2!
Life is never more fun than when you're the underdog competing against the giants.

Seems like he sees himself as a midfielder in that interview.
Hopefully he grows another 2cm![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

We need an A Grade Midfielder
The young gun mids have all gone outside the top 10 drafts for the last 5 years or so.
Cotchin is the only A grade at number 2 ( Delidio was number one but is more a backline player) Dangerfield the next best of the top 10s at number 10 then
Fyfe-20
Hannerbery- pick 30
Beams- 29
our a graders are
Dal came at pick 16 or so
Joey 37
Lenny was 11 or so
Jack was 42
Hartlett, Ziebell, Dusty, Conca and Daniel Rich are all top 10s but are all not quite there yet.
2011 saw GWS buy up a heap of talented mids so should see at least a few of Coniglio, Tyson and Hoskins Elliot types come good but I want my mids to have some tricks if they are top 5 in the draft. Freeman at least has Dangerfield/Judd explosive pace.
