Dear Diary....
It’s happened again! I kicked Scott out. Why do I pick the wrong ones? He seemed so right – he was cute, charming, well spoken, he called me his “juggernaut”. He played with the young kids. But he had a cruel side too. He told me I was mediocre. He made all the decisions without consulting me. The older kids didn’t like him.
We sat down to discuss our differences and Scott promised he would change. I discussed our problems with my neighbour Mr Fine. Of course he then went and gossiped it all over town. Scott found out and was furious at me saying I was living in the past and undermining him. By the end we were barely talking. Why does this keep happening? I know I’m not that successful but I’m passionate. That Catty woman down the street is always rubbing her “sustained success” in my face. God I hate her.
That bastard who left me and went to Western Australia was in town in September showing off how well he’s doing with his tanned 20 year old Fremantle girlfriend. He left because I was too old to bring him to ultimate satisfaction. He even took one of my children with him (alright Zac is gangly and uncoordinated but I loved him). I feel sorry for her. He’ll use her up like he did me and then when she wants kids he’ll run off to hook up with the next young thing looking for an older experienced man. Despite being told she should keep things in the “bubble” she told me she had the same problem falling just short of “climax” the way I did – coincidence Ross?
Things seem to be going from bad to worse for me. I feel a total mess. I can’t seem to get many wins on the board. I have three more kids coming at the end of November. People say I can’t control the ones I have now what with them doing drugs and lighting fires and the court cases. I pretty much live hand to mouth. I hate living in Seaford. I’m squabbling with my housemate Sandy. Hopefully I will move into my own place in a couple of years.
My favourite child, Robert, said he would move back to help run the house but I don’t think he has the experience yet. I’m going on a few dates this week. There are a few coming off recent break ups but I don’t think much of them. One of them, Mark Williams, seems a good match. He’s been single for a while. Someone said he is a bit kinky though – he has a reputation for choking but I think he’s over that.
Anyway I should try and be positive. I made some new friends in New Zealand this year and I’m going there again next year. The young kids seem on the right track. Things will turn around. I've got amazing friends who have stuck with me through thick and thin and shared all the heart breaks with me. Without their faith and support I honestly wouldn't be here. I guess there is strength through loyalty. I must keep marching in.

Brilliant! I have always thought since RL left that what we really need (rather than a new coach) is some family counselling ...

Re: Dear Diary....
Love your work Bluthy. Now, pray tell me, did you post as 'Zippy' in an earlier Saintsational life????? There are so many similarities between your humour and his?
Zippy if you are not Bluthy and you are still out there lurking in S/S land, please come back and post some more................ you and Bluthy would be a great double act....... to help us Sainters get through these unsettling times.
Can anyone recall that post Zippy did to Bye, Bye, Mr American Pie? Possibly in 2008 during our low scoring days of Lyon's reign, after we beat Carlton.......... it was a brilliant take on that tune.
Zippy like Bluthy used to turn out gems of posts............... also Dan Warna used to due weekly 'news reports' that left most of us giggling at our key boards.
Seeing Zippy and Dan Warna have quit the comedy scene.............. keep your humorous posts coming Bluthy..........they are real pearls!

How are you Loris? When I read this beauty this morning I felt that Bluthy was channeling Spur (from days gone by).loris wrote:Love your work Bluthy. Now, pray tell me, did you post as 'Zippy' in an earlier Saintsational life????? There are so many similarities between your humour and his?

Fine thanks busso. And you could be right there mick Spurish................... I'm so glad such clever wit is finding it's way back onto the site.....very reminiscent of the days of yore.busso mick wrote:How are you Loris? So much better to have a little bit of light relief from the 'pissing up the wall contests' that hijack post after post in 'my opinion is better than yours' contest amongst the resident bores of SS.
I trolled back through Zippy's posts and the 'American Pie' post is still there............. trouble is I don't know how to copy it out and place it in this thread. Maybe 'saintbrat' might be able to assist???? I'll have to send out a cooooooweeee to her.

Re: Dear Diary....
HERE IT IS!!! It's Long.
Zippy wrote:And since I can't compose music, I'll just have to use someone elses. This is to the tune of American Pie, and chronicles the darkness of the early season, and how much more hopeful I am about our year after Saturday.
A long, long time ago . . .
I can still remember
How big Frasers Colemans made me smile.
And I knew if he had the chance.
Milne'd do his goalkicking dance
And maybe we'd taste glory for a while.
But Lyon's tactics make me shiver
With each low score that we deliver.
Bad times for a saints fan
Our coaching staff have no plan
I can't remember if I cried
When I saw our oh-seven season die
But something touched me deep inside
the day, our mojo, died.
So bye-bye to us finishing high
The only time we don't leak goals
is when there's a bye
And the cheer squad are drinking bourbon and dry
singing, there'll be no flag's 'til I die
There'll be no flags 'til I die
Does Lyon's tactics really suck
And did he cause our lack of pluck?
Saintsational sure told me so
Why'd Lyon trap us in this hole
And does he fail on every poll
And did he teach our midfield how to run real slow?
Well I know the players don't like him
'cos I saw them bludging in the gym
They kicked off their running shoes
And dragged out lots of boo-ooze
I was a lonely optimistic buck
Who hoped the saints no longer sucked
but I knew we were out of luck
the day our mojo died
So bye-bye to us finishing high
The only time we don't leak goals
is when there's a bye
And the cheer squad are drinking bourbon and dry
singing, there'll be no flag's 'til I die
There'll be no flags 'til I die
Now for two years we've been on our own
Since our old coach Thommo was boned
But that's not how it used to be
When the saints look like we'd live the dream
and the players skills and hands were clean
And it looked like Thommo would make history
Oh, and while Westaway looked around
Old Thommo sued on dodgy grounds
The courtroom was adjourned
No verdict was returned
And while we all disagreed with barks
The team played badly on the park
And our future was looking dark
The day our mojo died.
So bye-bye to us finishing high
The only time we don't leak goals
is when there's a bye
And the cheer squad are drinking bourbon and dry
singing, there'll be no flag's 'til I die
There'll be no flags 'til I die
Helter Skelter in Cararra's swelter
We gave the Roos no place to shelter
They started well, but they fell fast.
Our feet flew fast across the grass
We hit a chest with every pass
Maybe our mojo has returned at la-ast
Now the full-time air was sweet perfume
And we loved hearing the saints club tune
Down in Melbourne we all danced
And on-field Milney Pranced
While the playeres huddled on the field
'cos for the first time they didn't yield
Did you notice what was revealed
That day, we played, with pride
And we were singing
Let's see, if we can finish high
We may yet create a miracle
right after the bye
And the cheer squad
was on a huge massive high
singing we'll have seen a flag when we die
we'll have seen a flag when we die
Oh, and there we were back in eighth place
Still running in the finals race
Maybe it's time to start again
So our midfield is looking quick
And our forwards can find the big sticks
'cos, delivery's a forward's best friend.
Oh, and we watched Roo on the big stage
North Melbourne filled with useless rage
No matter how they bleed
They can't catch Roo-ey's lead
And as Roo soared up into the night
his high marking was a great sight
The players all laughed with delight
'cos they, refused to die
And Roo was singing
come on, we sure can finish high
We may yet create a miracle
right after the bye
And the cheer squad
is on a huge massive high
singing we'll have seen a flag when we die
we'll have seen a flag when we die
So April and May gave us the blues
but June's created happy news
But that's the way it goes these days
I went down to the sacred ground
Where injuries lurk underground
but the doctors said our players should all play
And in the streets the saints fans cheered
The blues fans quaked with deathly fear
This win was a great token
Our spirits are not broken
And the three men I admire most
Burkey, Loewe and Barker's ghost
All cheered the loudest and the most
The day we played with pride
And they were singing
come on, we sure can finish high
We may yet create a miracle
right after the bye
And the cheer squad
is on a huge massive high
singing we'll have seen a flag when we die
we'll have seen a flag when we die
they were singing
come on, we sure can finish high
We may yet create a miracle
right after the bye
And the cheer squad
is on a huge massive high
singing we'll have seen a flag when we die
