Draft - who don't we want and why

Post: # 1419947Post maverick »

Plenty of threads on who we like and who they might take, but not much on who would worry us and why...

At pick 3 I don't want Aish, reckon he could turn out another Cale Morton and for me go home factor will be high...
Worried that Scharanberg might turn out to be a good average player and not elite as well....

At 18/19 - don't want Darcy Gardiner, don't think they will, but i have seen a phantom draft with his name attached, reckon he's too small for KP...also don't want another ruck...

Garlett ... he is a good player but for pick 18 or 19 would be a massive waste of a pick , especially if he go's off the rails or doesnt live up to his hype ....

Cripps .... i just think it would be madness to try the cousin of a bloke who walked out on us ... sure they are different people but can you imagine the field day people will have if we draft him and then he wants to go home .. will make us look like total amatures

I don't want Hartung.

Big knocks on his disposal/decision-making at times, and from some reports appears to be a bit full of himself. I think he will get found out at AFL level.

Tall players. Apparently there's plenty of decent ones next year, so we can afford to wait.

Saints Disco should have been burned to the ground 40 years ago.
But is he still able to play.

I saw a bit of him play last season at club level. Dunstan was in the medical rooms every week and really struggled to get onto the ground. So in my mind rarely played 100% fit. But make no mistake he is a very good player. I saw enough of him to know that IF we can get him fit and injury free , and that would be my only question mark on him, he will be a Simon Black type player. Clearance machine.

Yeah, and that won't be the first wink and nod, Stinger. There's a fair chance I'll cop many a whack over that comment. Well, I hope so, anyway

sorry for the thread, there was bound to be one red face.
I think what you have said is fair enough, but there always needs to be a balance, you need slow inside mids as well as outside speedsters, would be interested to see how much slower than Selwood, Mitchell, Watson etc he is...

He runs like a 185cm Jamie Shanahan. Must be those disco hips and enormous thighs.
