Footy Tipping Comp

Post: # 1437331Post Saint Bev »

Qld Saints has just released this seasons Footy Tipping Competition details. There doesn't seem to be a Tipping Competition on here. So everyone is invited :D

The total cost is $50 for the season. This MUST be paid in full before Round 3. Failure to pay will have you removed from the tipping competition. Payment details will be forwarded to you when you have registered and advised us your details.

THE PRIZE POOL

Prize pool will be distributed as follows: Division 1 - 40%
Division 2 - 20%
Division 3 - 10%
Division 4 - 6%
Division 5 - 4%

Please note that if there is more than 1 winner for each division, the prize pool for that division will be shared proportionately. This can sometimes result in a solo winner for a lower division receiving a bigger payout than the shared winners for a higher division.

Weekly 9 out of 9 prize - 20% divided by 23

Tipping is done via the http://www.footytips.com.au website. Instructions on how to join are set out below. NOTE: You are able to view all tipsters' tips & changes made by competition managers on the http://www.footytips.com.au site each week once round is closed.

COMPETITION RULES

You score 1 point for a win, NOTHING for a loss or a draw.

A bonus point will be given if you score 9 out of 9. NOTE - For split rounds, one bonus point will be awarded for the two weeks.

Make sure that you nominate the winning margin, for the nominated (discriminator) game in each round as this will be considered in the outcome of the weekly 9 out of 9 competition – see below.

At the end of the home and away season, the person with the highest score will be declared the winner.

If there are tipsters who finish the season with the same number of points for Divisions 1 to 5, prize-money for those divisions will be shared equally by the number of winners.

What you need to know about Tipping

• Tips for each game can be entered or edited at any time prior to 5 minutes before the nominated game commencement time as published on the site.

• Under no circumstances will tips be accepted after a game has commenced.

• If tippers do not enter tips for a game, round or join after the season has commenced they will be allocated the default score (see below).

• What you need to know about Tipper Rankings
• Tippers will be firstly ranked by their weekly score, where the highest score is the highest rank.

• Weekly winners for 9 from 9 will be determined by the tippers 'Round Margin' and then by their 'Total Margin'.

• What you need to know about Margins
Tippers are required to enter a winning team plus a margin for one game each round, the Discriminator Game, usually the 1st game of the fixture. (the number of point’s team A will beat team B by).
Round (Margin for single round)

• If you tip the winning Team and their exact winning margin, your 'Round Margin' will equal 0 points/goals (like golf, lower is better).

• If you pick the winning team, but not the winning margin, your 'Round Margin' will equal the difference between the actual game margin and the margin you tipped.

• If you tip the losing Team, your 'Round Margin' will equal the points difference of the actual game margin PLUS the margin you tipped.

• Total (Accumulative Margin)

• The 'Total Margin' is the total to date of the Weekly Margins for all rounds in the tipping competition. As with 'Your Margin' the lower your 'Accumulative Margin' is the better ranking you will have.

9 OUT OF 9

Starts in Round 1 and continues to Round 23 and incorporates selecting the margin in the nominated (discriminator) game for the round. Anyone who picks nine winners in Round 1 wins the prize. If no one gets 9, the prize will jackpot for Round 2 and so on. If there is a winner, the next week will start again and continue to jackpot until won.

If more than one person picks 9 in any round, the winner will be the person who has selected the lowest margin in the nominated game for that round.

Any funds left at the end of Round 23 will go back into the prize pool.

Monies won will be paid at the end of the season. Prize money will be divided and paid out 2 weeks after Round 23, or when prize winners provide bank account details to Chris or Josh.
