The club should issue an apology
That game yesterday was completely unacceptable. It was one of the worst defeats in the club's history. If you want a club ending loss, you need look no further than that game. Who would want to become a member of this rabble, if they are going to play like that? The club, coach, players should apologise for the game, and say that it will never happen again.

Re: The club should issue an apology
No need for an apology. Consecutive wins over Carlscum and GCS will do nicely, thanks.

Chances of that happening? Not too good at the moment.

Absolutely spot on.White Winmar wrote:No need for an apology. Consecutive wins over Carlscum and GCS will do nicely, thanks.
Even beating Carlton alone is worth seeing us go down as we did yesterday. Well maybe that's a stretch but beating Carlton is really worth 3 wins!

Stay calm, stay strong, STAY SAINTS! Yesterday was awful, but it was men against boys, Premiers against a rebuilding team, what do folk expect?

Injuries will have a big say in how we go in the next fortnight. Armitage, Hickey, Fisher, Gilbert, Geary, probably Gwilt and probably a few others I've forgotten. It will be tough, but not impossible.

Oh please!!! If richo turns into north melbournes scott brother and starts the apology crap I think I will burn my membership.
Saying sorry admits that you could have tried harder and is really really lame.
Do you think they went out there to loose like that,
Get a grip

Hawthorn were expected to win, but I expect a competitive effort form the Saints, and yesterday was disinterested rubbish where I doubt if any of our boys raised a sweat as they barely got out of a trot to put pressure on the Hawks!thejiggingsaint wrote:Stay calm, stay strong, STAY SAINTS! We need to wield the axe.
Savage is wasting everyones time (and money) this year - Milera deserves a chance at it.
Roberton and Bruce simply must come in down back.
Dunny even deserves a game ahead of CJ (and Saunders could do with a rest).

the club might say to all us supporters that we owe an apology for not being at every game to support or renewing/being a member of the club we love every year we say we support the team. in essence no apologies required.
that's life let’s move on to next week. that was a bad one but let’s just realize where we are at.

With all due respect Jiggster, not a 25 goal hiding from my club at any stage, under any circumstances. Will never drop off though.thejiggingsaint wrote:Stay calm, stay strong, STAY SAINTS! Yesterday was awful, but it was men against boys, Premiers against a rebuilding team, what do folk expect?

A club ending loss? By Jeez, it only takes one flogging of a developing team, by the reigning premiers no less, and you come out with this hysterical nonsense? Weren't you around in the 80s?sainterinsydney wrote:That game yesterday was completely unacceptable. It was one of the worst defeats in the club's history. I'd hope our membership base was made of sterner stuff than that.
Yes it is extremely disappointing to sit in the cold and watch your team get smashed, but a little perspective please.

Re: The club should issue an apology
If that is the worst of it, oh well.
We are probably going to pay poorly again and again and again. So be it.
It is not life or death and no apologies need to be issued.
The football club learns and develops and we go again.

In 1979 Fitzroy beat Melbourne by 190 points.
Where is Fitzroy now?

Hate that stat. We should have been 2 flags to one after the 71 GF. Now it's 11/1 in their favour 40 odd years on. A tale of 2 clubs.Con Gorozidis wrote:Where is Melbourne now?3rd generation saint wrote:In 1979 Fitzroy beat Melbourne by 190 points.

Re: The club should issue an apology
Melbourne still exists despite a 190 point loss, Fitzroy ceased to exist.
Therefore the statement that yesterdays defeat was club ending is a little exaggerated.

Go and have a cold shower. The loss against the Hawks was always going to happen. You don't have to have a long neck to be a goose.sainterinsydney wrote:That game yesterday was completely unacceptable. It was one of the worst defeats in the club's history. Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

I wouldn't blame the cheer squad, if they didn't make a banner next week,
Hell, even if they didn't turn up!
Just tell the players "We didn't know whether you guys would turn up,
you didn't turn up last week!"

Re: The club should issue an apology
If I hear "this loss was always going to happen" or "it was expected" about a 25 goal loss one more time, I'm going to scream. I don't want an apology from anyone, I just never want to see such an insipid display by a St Kilda side ever again. 25 goal ffs.

Re: The club should issue an apology
Granted, yesterday's performance was just inexcusable. However, I'm not sure a public apology would come across as particularly dignified. Best that they make it up to us by trying to recapture the type of form shown in our three wins.
Geez Con, we're already in a state of Prozac Nation. No need to numb us into submission with that old proverbial mallet on the head.Con Gorozidis wrote: The fact remains
