A day in the Animal Pit was always entertaining with some wonderful invective and banter.
Now any "out there" comment will have someone dialling the offensive behaviour hotline.

Clearly they do think that
Clearly, but it doesn't seem obvious to me. Might rate better but kills the crowd. Couldn't be that much better could it?

Couldn't agree more. I grew up at Moorabbin, standing up and yelling out was just part of going to the footy.

I'm now in my 30s, but I still stand up the back and I still yell out. At Sunday's game I was yelling out (nothing offensive - I was telling Schneider to man up) and a fellow St Kilda supporter down in front of me turned around and aggressively told me to "shutup and buy a seat". It's a sad time if that's what football crowds have become.

If it was a 2.10 game, I would have gone with the kids and been home for dinner at about 6.00, so no doubt in my mind the numbers would have been far greater than 14,000 - mind you, the Club still wouldn't have made a cracker out of it, in fact the Club would have paid thousands for the privilege. Would only happen to Bulldogs, North and ourselves thanks AFL.

That sickens me. I feel like starting a mass 'return of the animal cage movement',unfortunately we'd only get about 9 people sign up and we'd get ejected by quarter time

Me too I barrack loudly every bit of play by the Saints, people around me look at me like I'm odd. I call them the theatre goers.

OK, sounds like we need to nominate a standing area at home games where supporters with passion can enjoy each others loud company without getting stared down by theatre goers. I've got a reserved seat this year near our deafening cheersquad, but would happily stand most games if it meant we could re-ignite some passion in the stands. I think there's a few loud fans that stand behind our cheersquad, they started a chant the other week, and were stared at by some cheersquad members as if to say we start the chants here!
