seriously?
you cannot see why he was delisted?

Just to clarify, matrix, trading and delisting are two different things.

One involves you cutting a player with no compensation.

The other involves obtaining a kind of agreed value exchange, should that player be able to find a new home, which James Gwilt most certainly will be.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

He will fit in really well with Melbournes back line with his turning the ball over and going straight back over his head.

This thread is starting to smack of putting an old couch or fridge out on hard rubbish day,
and then running out with "garage sale' signs because you see a trailer backing up !!

Sorry, but if the Saints had placed a price on his head (or at a least a price worth anything to us), he would not have found a home.

The club has done the right thing by a loyal servant by maximising his chances of another lowly club picking him up.

Dees or GWS may only pick him him if he is a "free" pick.

No offence to James but I think Melbourne or Adelaide would be mad to add him to their lists, the only side I can see him fitting is GWS, he could replace hunt as a mature presence down back.

Hope he gets a contract somewhere though, seems like a good guy.

'Certainly'?

I wouldnt think there is anything certain about that at all. Its Melbourne or nothing. And its too risky for Melbourne imho.

Gwilt was a " good ordinary player " for us , unfortunately he lost a little bit of pace after his knee reco !

I hope he gets a chance to keep playing and wish him all the best .

Anyway he only lives around the corner from parkdale , so maybe he can get a game for the Vultures .

Stuff the Vultures, Ormond, and Yarra Valley! :P

Gwilt imo was a decent player, he should get another go at a different club.

Heck, even CJ might, it just depends on those teams who are aiming for top 4 and what exactly they need to top off their list. If freo lost Crowley, I wouldn't be surprised if RL picked him up. Same thing when we went for Lovett, we went to fill exactly what we were missing.... (though Lovett was a f'head and cost us a flag & 1st round pick :/)

First Harry O'Mandela and now Gwilt, sounds like the Ross Lyon school of trash &treasure recruiting.
Spare us please.
I have usually defended Harry - but I have to concede he really is completely full of it.

Any chance Melbourne give us a Late pick so as not to dilute their FA compo?

Or is Gwilt a delisted free agent?

That is funny.

His autobiography should be entitled: "Flog. I am."

Can't wait for us to play against whoever he ends up with........unlike Goodes, no one will come to his defence when he gets jeered.

He's an unrestricted free agent so actually whether or not he's delisted makes no difference.

You still get compensation for an unrestricted free agent though so I am assuming it still counts towards your net loss/gain when considering compensation?

Do you think Melbourne will still pick up Harry Oh after that speech.

Gave himself a good polishing, what a knob...

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Ah yeah, fair point. I'm sure if they wanted him we could end up with pick 90 or something. Not sure how much that matters to anyone though!
