Why should it be a fair trade?

there is a reason the #1 pick has been trade once in 15 years, it is because it is the golden ticket.

f*** fair. They offer overs or we keep #1 and take Petracca

Or we tell them we are gunna offer #1 for Dangerfield.

Come to the party, lube up and bend over, or we keep the golden ticket.

Fair? - our turn to do the screwing.

Bunk your intentions to get the best for the club are great, but I think some of the suggested trades are pretty unrealistic. The club rated Boyd as once in a decade forward and if Petracca was in last years draft he probably be anywhere between 4 -6. If we could get Boyd in a swap it doesnt mean there couldnt be other arrangements in play - like letting Jaksch, ORourke or Frost slide through to the pre season draft? For me just getting Boyd for Petracca would be a win but if the club can extract more than all the better!

Perhaps the trade is actually Petracca for Boyd?

Remember how keen we were on Boyd last year & GWS are more likely to release him than other mentioned players. Plus the have a number of other full forward options at the club, plus they get to keep pick 4 for Wright.

Fair trade that would suit both clubs...
I think you are close to the mark.

If they don't want to trade fine. Ball is in their court.

I think comparing Boyd to Petracca is a bit moot. It is the perceived value of Petracca to the GWS team that is in question.

If they really want him, don't offer us s***.

Otherwise we keep #1 and take Petracca.

We don't have to do a thing. As I said ball is in GWS court.

I know these kids are too young for this year - but Cockatoo sounds like a real prospect for next year.

Please avoid the use of "trade and Ball" near one another as it gives me 2009 flashbacks and I am just starting to heal and don't want a relapse!

Cockatoo is 18 in October so can be drafted this year. Knightmare on Big Footy has him going in the 60's in his Phantom Draft.

Interesting one for our pick 40 imo.
I reckon we should get him.

One interesting one is all the experts are now saying North desperately need a tall defender to play on key fwds.

Updates

Terry Wallace reporting that Jaksch has had discussions with Blues and Saints and will decide on his preferred club sometime soon.

TAC Cup expert Paige Cardona who is very well informed on the draft, although I have no idea if she has any inside knowledge beyond that, has tweeted the following: "St Kilda likely to trump everyone and pull off a big, big deal during the trade period. Big things happening at that club." Take it for what it's worth.

Now she's saying:

Paige Cardona @paigecardona · 2h
After Trades...
GWS - Petracca
MEL - Brayshaw + Durdin
STK - McCartin
COL - Ahern
WBD - Wright
CAR - Goddard
GCS - Laverde
COL - Moore

So if it's a big, big trade from GWS I think one of: Cameron / Boyd / Whitfield. Go Saints!

I'm excited! Sounds like we've got got Melbourne's compensation pick for Frawley in exchange for Gwilt. Bundled up our pick 38 & our GF sprint finalist Jones for Cameron & their 2nd round pick! ;-)
Might be very exciting because Paige has a good rep, not sure she'd tweet that if it wasn't as good as she's hinting.

JOR or Jasch don't count as a "big, big trade" in my opinion. So one of the 3 I mentioned must be in contention.

GWS will never trade cameron or boyd or whitfield this year. if they do, theyre doing exactly what adelaide did and will end up exactly like them

Fingers crossed!!!

Paige Cardona totally knows what shes talking about.

Agree that Jakshe and JO'R DO NOT count as 'big big'.

This has to be a Cameron or Boyd!

Gee whizz. Im excited now.

The Run Home‏@TheRunHome
Inside Footy's @BrettAndersonIF says there's a good chance Jaksch and O'Rourke from GWS will end up at the Saints in a deal involving Pick 1
