yeah,

its a fair trade. Sad for us but you gotta give something up to get something...

We get Petracca and 2 more in the top 25. (when you factor in the father son/academy pics, we probably have 3 in first 20 live pics)

Reckon our recruiters are confident with what they can get at 21. Wouldn't have done it otherwise.

2 of the top 3 don't see the same importance in having lots of big blokes to ruck and play forward, as some others do.....
The bigtime Hawker have McEvoy, Hale & (to a lesser extent) Ceglar who are 'big rucking types who can play as key forwards' and Roughead being a big forward who can play ruck.

For depth they also have Lowden, another Ruck/Fwd type plus Grimley a Fwd/Ruck. So I doubt they are 'light on' for this type of player.

FWIW Geelong have McIntosh, Blicavs, Vardy, Simpson, Walker & now Mitch Clark & Stanley who are Ruck/Fwd types.....looks like they value the Ruck/Fwd as well

I think you're wrong.

I hope like hell we get Nakia Cockatoo or someone good that comes on quick to dull the loss. If Stanley kicks 6 goals in his first game or something my head will explode.

What if Richo had said something like this to Pelchen, Bains and the others? (I'm not saying that this happened)

"I've seen Rhys for 12 months, I don't rate him as being in our best 22 by 2016, and I want to restructure our forward line next year with Lee and Membrey to give us multiple goal-kicking options, with Riewoldt pushing up the ground and Hickey resting forward".

How does the trade sound in that context?

Absolutely, there could be many factors…

The pick is decent, we just need to find a replacement ruck/fwd.

Great trade for us, what is it with our supporters, 75% of his games were insipid. No wonder the Cats supporters are so dirty.

Big, Blonde and can Run.

Great trade!!!

Stanley has played a handful of good games in 5 seasons. Good luck to him but he's an athlete before a footballer and never really became a footballer

Saints won this trade by a fair margin

Stanley will never be more than an above average player. He was originally pick # 47 so we have come out on top.

We need the draft picks and Stanley is replacable as implied above.

Good luck to Rhys at his new home.

I always liked Rhys, but he never really got going for us, so unfortunately it was time to go.

Only time will tell whether we've done the right thing or not!!

The worst thing that ever happened to Rhys was winning the grand final sprint. Made him look like a superstar in the making. Probably would have been moved on earlier if that hadn't happened.
