WHIFFIN. Kenneth. The St Kilda Football Club mourns the passing of long time club trainer and life member Ken Whiffin. Ken was a trainer, mentor, confidante and friend to generations of St Kilda players ever since his arrival at the club in 1965 and will be sorely missed by all. Ken leaves a legacy unsurpassed by many in the AFL, as a life member of both the club and the AFL, a Jack Titus and John Moran Award winner for his conspicuous services to the AFL and the club and winning the AFLCA Support Staff Leadership Award in 2009. Our condolences are extended to Joanne and Peter and to the Whiffin family. Farewell Saint Ken

WHIFFIN. The Funeral Service for Mr Kenneth Whiffin will be held in the Kingston City Hall (Moorabbin Town Hall), cnr Nepean Hwy and South Rd, Moorabbin on FRIDAY (Jan. 16, 2015) commencing at 1.00 p. m. At the conclusion of the Service a private Cremation will take place.

I don't think there's been too many more selfless people at the Saints than Ken Whiffin. Every article I've read quotes him as saying that the club owed him nothing but rather he owed the club everything. Even though he had volunteered so much of his time over the course of decades.
I'll have to keep his example in mind next time I think the club has short changed me, not given value for money or underperformed. Just as it did for Ken, the club owes me nothing, I owe it everything. Thanks Ken Whiffin.

A brilliant and unbelievably attended service for St.Kilda Legend Kenny Whiffen today..... not a dry eye in the house.......great to see absolute legends of the St.Kilda Footy Club make the effort to get there.......I can see Kenny shaking his head saying..... "No way Chicken.....did Plugger, Spud, Harvs, Burkey, Lowey, Rooey, Bazza Breen, Rossy Smith, Neil Roberts....and Laz Lazar Vidovic and Rocket Rod Owen get there....no way....what even Milney and Bakes did they really come Chicken ????" Yes great man they CAME ....they all CAME .....goodbye Champion Bloke until we meet again keep the defence up, the right hand jabbing and look them in the eye....look them in the eye ‪#‎TootToot‬

SHE did it for Kenny.

When Stephanie Mfongwot was crowned the national amateur boxing champion after winning her 69kg women’s fight on the Gold Coast, she lifted her singlet to show a message she’d written on it with a blue marker.

“RIP Kenny Whiffen,’’ it read.

It was a salute to the legendary St Kilda Football Club trainer who for many years was Steve Kerr’s revered right-hand man at the Moorabbin boxing gym.

After Whiffen died early this year, Stephanie, 21, resolved to dedicate her bid for a national title to a man who had given her plenty of straight-to-the-point tips.

Whiffen liked what he saw in her, telling Leader last year: “She’s lovely on her feet. Just glides around. Poetry in motion really.’’
