I reckon you get your right side as good as possible before worrying about your wrong side. Overrated kicking on your non preferred unless you are a Mitchell or someone similar.

Re: Steven
It's very frustrating when some of his best work is undone by his poor kicking, especially on good lead-up plays that should result on a shot on goal. Needs much more work on this part of his game to become an elite player.
However, we can't complain about his effort and number of disposals that he accumulates during a game.

Re: Steven
He is a good kick. Have a look at the kick to Hickey in the last that put us ahead. It's just when he goes 100 miles per hr he needs to compose himself.Junction Oval wrote:It's very frustrating when some of his best work is undone by his poor kicking, especially on good lead-up plays that should result on a shot on goal. Re: Steven
I agree he is a good kick just needs to compose himself & also he is always in the fire.
The chances he takes running through small gaps are incredible, that will lead to skill errors under enormous pressure.
He needs to master the 25 meter pass to the leading forward like Harvey & Dal Santo did as he will have so many opportunities running through breaking the lines.

And god help you. What a weird person you come across as. Why would you be jealous of another Saints player especially as Armo is going so well. Get over it.

You say some stupid things, but that has to be the klinker. Of the last 30 flags, the most skilled team in the AFL, on both sides, has won it on 29 occasions. Now, if you can pick the one occasion when this didn't happen, then you might redeem yourself.plugger66 wrote:... Overrated kicking on your non preferred ...
Teams may, in a season, beat a more skilful team. There are such results. But the finals system almost guarantees that the most skilful team in the AFL wins the flag. As it should.

Well that is the most ridiculous thing you have written and that includes the time you quit the forum like a 10 year old because someone did a thread you normally do. What has skill on the opposite foot got to do with skills of a team. Does Hodge kick on his right much? No. Do many players kick on their non preferred ? No. hawks are one of the most skilled sides for years but apart from Mitchell most just have fantastic skills on their preferred foot. Coaches don't even really worry about non preferred. Disappointing knowledge from you but I suppose you are only 10 years old. Got to laugh.

Re: Steven
its all about not getting caught on your non preferred
how many times do you see good running half backs or mids, real good ones, get caught on the wrong side
separates the wheat from the chaff
that said
i still think you should be able to at least hit a contest down the ground at a minimum on your non preferred

Re: Steven
I actually agree with plugger every player on an afl list can kick with both but have a strong preference because they have more penetration and control. If you constantly get caught holding the ball stuffing around balancing yourself that's different. The idea that you need to be ambidextrous is a media myth. The opposite foot is more a get out of gaol card than an essential trait to play to a high standard.
