saints vs crows pregame discussion
One confirmed (and handy) out for the crows
Rory Sloan (inj)
Possible outs for Saints, Fred may have a sore head

Re: saints vs crows pregame discussion
If Mav can blanket Danger and Armo can come out on top H2H against Thompson then we might go alright against a good, deep midfield.
We are lucky to face them without Rory.
The key match up could be Betts. While Tex (Fisher), Jenkins (Delaney), Lynch (Dempster) can be adequately matched up on, I'm not sure Geary has the speed and agility to cover Betts who is in scintillating form. In fact, I think we may need to bring Wright in who has the attributes to play a purely defensive role against him. Webster is another possibility.

Yep. Betts is the worry and I don't think that Geary is agile enough for Betts. Wright has pace. Shenton - anyone??

I doubt whether either Shenton or Wright will come in unless Savage misses out. They will go with what they have. We also cant carry both Geary and one of Wright or Shenton in the backline with all their average skills.

I wouldn't think so. Geary has to get him. Unless they go with Dempster but he maybe needed elsewhere.
Re: saints vs crows pregame discussion
Webster on Betts for mine. Fisher gets Jenkins, McKenzie gets Lynch and Delaney goes to Walker.

do we have anyone in the seconds that could start putting pressure on Fisher for the same role/spot?

oh oh I just thought of something
if we dont play savage (& especially if Sloane is out)
does Acres come in and Steven maybe go to Betts - reckon he would be a good match

Get into that little showpony Betts face and it could put him off his game. Might backfire but could be an
Option.

Tom Lee looks like he's being groomed and has been in the best out of the backline every week except his first one.
Re: saints vs crows pregame discussion
I just remember he broke Wrights jaw with a cheap shot, left the ground and everything.
Got 3 weeks didn't he?
Geary for mine.

Re: saints vs crows pregame discussion
Obviously lots of positives but they did receive a bit of a reality check at training by reviewing last years game at Etihad against the Crows. Our boys were tossed around like rag dolls that day. Sure 12 months has helped mature our boys but Adelaide are a strong bodied unit. All part of the learning curve.
Feeling is great though.

Dunno, I wouldn't change the lineup unless forced by injury.
Gears did well vs Dalhous, and other dogs smalls that played forward.
Why change for the sake of change?

Might be onto something there. We are on a massive high, prime for a fall.skeptic wrote:i feel we might get a touch up this match

Re: saints vs crows pregame discussion
Not advocating Wright for Geary. Plenty of match ups for Geary. Don't think Savage should play. Concussion leaves you less than 100% plus add in the travel.SainterK wrote:Or betts feels he has it over him?BackFromUSA wrote:Wright is the right match up and will play on Betts mind too.SainterK wrote:I just remember he broke Wrights jaw with a cheap shot, left the ground and everything.

And nobody scares Nathan Wright.

Effort is all you want. I wasn't seeing it in the second qtr against the dogs and was a bit peeved but all of that was rectified in the last half.bigred wrote:Might be onto something there. We are on a massive high, prime for a fall.skeptic wrote:i feel we might get a touch up this match
