Great win !

Another strong finish but as our percentage shows , why do we not dominate lesser teams from the start ?

SANDRINGHAM 19.6 (120) d PORT MELBOURNE 12.15 (87)

Win/loss: Sandringham 11-4 / Port Melbourne 6-9

Telling facts: The escape artists at Sandringham did it again – even without injured skipper Adam Cockie – consolidating their spot in the top four by coming from 16 points down early in the final quarter to run over the Borough at Trevor Barker Beach Oval. Port Melbourne’s sixth loss in succession keeps it stranded two games out of the eight.

Leading goalkickers: Membrey 4 (Sandringham) / O’Sullivan 2, Dove 2, Lisle 2 (Port Melbourne

Sandringham ended any finals hope for Port Melbourne with a 33-point win at Trevor Barker Beach Oval. Trailing by five points at the last change, the Zebras nailed eight last-quarter goals – with Tim Membrey kicking three of them – to charge home. Clint Jones (33 disposals) and Cameron Shenton (29) were the culprits in the midfield.
In a blow to the Zebras, however, it was revealed midfielder Adam Cockie will miss the next six weeks with a hamstring injury, meaning he is likely to miss at least the Zebras' first final.
St Kilda's Ahmed Saad, who was held to just one goal, said he was "enjoying" the season at the Zebras, but hoped to "push back into the ones" again soon.

Definitely! I wonder if the kid still has a chance at an AFL list? Can find the footy and kick a goal. Presumably not big enough bodied but you never know.

I doubt it. Would be good back at Ormond though. he is just to small and im not sure he gets a lot of it anyway. Does love a goal but doesn't kick that many really.

just a few of the player reviews
Daniel Markworth

Our criticism of Daniel recently has been his low contested ball numbers. But on Sunday, he went and found it himself. The split between contested ball and uncontested ball was even. He was strong in the contest and ran well too.

Tim Membrey

Tim booted four goals and two behinds. Even though this was an excellent return, it’s some of his defensive work that is most pleasing. He makes it very hard for defenders to find any space and shuts them down.

Darren Minchington

Darren’s work rate was elite. He laid 17 tackles, collected 27 possessions and competed unbelievably hard for the entire game. He was our best player

Cameron Shenton

Cam had a blinder. He had 28 touches and kicked 2.1 from half-back. He was really aggressive and creative for us in that role.
