Bend me over surrender monkeys
Seriously - would St Kilda ever get rubbish served up to them like this in a Grand Final? Hey West Coast - Play your season at home with the umps up your freckle you will make the Grand. In reality this team was bottom half of the Eight at best. Congrats to the AFL for the show piece of s*** served up to a supposively international audience today. I can only hope that next time the Sainters make it, we get some A grade cannon fodder like this served up on a tasty platter to feast on.

Re: Bend me over surrernder moneys
Let's celebrate Hawthorn and how great they were today. Can't believe they can play with so much skill and poise after two trips to Perth. Shows what can be done with top class player management.
Well done to Big Mac, Zuckerberg Frawley, Lake and the other rejects

Basically everyone they picked up has turned to gold - even Frawley

Expansion teams sucked the life out of the draft for 3 years, so Hawks have managed to stay on top. Lucky them , on top right at the best time. make me sick.

Yeah it's all because of that. They only had to go to Perth twice this year in the finals, lost an assistant coach to Carlton and another assistant coaches son dies suddenly.asaint wrote:Expansion teams sucked the life out of the draft for 3 years, so Hawks have managed to stay on top. Hawthorn were fantastic. Yet again the Eagles had the better of the umps but Hawthorn were so good that they destroyed them.
The margin flattered the Eagles.

Re: Bend me over surrender monkeys
Hawks skills were amazing. They looked like they had the ball on a string. It would always go there way. They also don't panic and bomb the ball in. They just surgically kick the ball and find targets. How bout the goals they kicked also. They just don't do a thing wrong.
It also can't just be the players but the system they follow.
One day saints we will win, and when we do it just might take the shackles off for us to keep winning.

Re: Bend me over surrender monkeys
They were #%$#ed with out there 20 extra free kicks. The umps got them home all year but couldn't bring it over with them. They look at the umpires in disbelief half the time when they don't get what they are used to. I hate WCE more than any other team these days.

Re: Bend me over surrender monkeys
Not really. They chose players who could kick, most on both sides. Almost all of them have height as well and can take an overhead contested mark.Enrico_Misso wrote:Basically everyone they picked up has turned to gold - even Frawley
So, how did they lure them to Hawthorn? Money? Apparently not. It seems they wanted to play in a premiership team. That means the players already there did not make the most of their earning power. Hodge, Mitchell, Roughead and Rioli are all million dollar players elsewhere. They are prepared to accept under the odds for the chance of yesterday.
So why didn't we do it? Too many players on big money around 2008/09 and idiots as recruiters. Here's a tip for the current recruiting idiots. Recruit players who can kick and ditch players who can't. If it takes 20 years to churn through enough of them to get a decent kicking team, then so be it. Otherwise, the next Saints flag will be in the 53rd century.

Pelchen got the arse for a reason.
He was not the recruiter at Hawthorn... Another myth about him.
