We have quite possibility drafted the stupidest player ever to play AFL/VFL. God help us.

I maintain that Bennell's deal would not have altered that much (if at all).markp wrote:Life Long Saint wrote:About the same, really.
Bennell still cost Freo picks 16 & 35 and they got pick 22 back.
Carlisle cost us picks 5 & 24 with pick 14 coming back.
Carlisle is a much rarer commodity than Bennell.
The difference is that Freo were forewarned. But even if Bennell had no history, that deal is about right.
You honestly think that if this video had come out just a day or several days earlier, the deal would have been the same, let alone occurred?
Worse than that we now have a cancer being brought into the heart of the club. How long will we wait until this requires major surgery. Cub is weak as p*ss if it just rolls out the we will support this player dogma. He should not be "our" player.Bluthy wrote:

Very true! It is just a common thing now for the younger generation, your different if you don't do it..The_Merchant wrote: It is everywhere, not just footy clubs. Plenty of people in the media and entertainment industry are happy do a line or two at a party.
Given that his apology was likely drafted by someone at the club, I think we are sticking with him.markp wrote:I hope we announce he's never pulling on a St Kilda jumper and we're launching legal proceedings against (at very least) his manager, and will be seeking draft compensation from either EFC or AFL.
You are kidding yourself if you think this sort of thing doesn't happen with Saints players already.sasaint wrote:Worse than that we now have a cancer being brought into the heart of the club. And dragging the club thru the mud. It will never end up favourably for the club. Why not try and fix his problems and get some value from him?markp wrote:I hope we announce he's never pulling on a St Kilda jumper and we're launching legal proceedings against (at very least) his manager, and will be seeking draft compensation from either EFC or AFL.

The statement was released by the AFLPA, probably more chance they knocked it up rather than us.satchmo wrote:Given that his apology was likely drafted by someone at the club, I think we are sticking with him.markp wrote:I hope we announce he's never pulling on a St Kilda jumper and we're launching legal proceedings against (at very least) his manager, and will be seeking draft compensation from either EFC or AFL.
Lets hope he knows which end we're kicking to when the game starts.Bluthy wrote:

Or it was his manager laying out a fairly generic apology and suggesting a (PR) course that doesn't involve cutting them loose.satchmo wrote:Given that his apology was likely drafted by someone at the club, I think we are sticking with him.markp wrote:I hope we announce he's never pulling on a St Kilda jumper and we're launching legal proceedings against (at very least) his manager, and will be seeking draft compensation from either EFC or AFL.

Sounds like it has been drafted by the club
The St Kilda Football Club is incredibly disappointed in Jake Carlisle and this behaviour is not acceptable.
Our Board, players and staff are united in the direction we are going and we will not allow this progress to be undermined.
Jake has signed a contract with the St Kilda Football Club but he is aware that he is now on notice and behaviour of this type will not be tolerated.
Every player on our list has an obligation to live up to our values and to commit themselves to delivering to their best ability, on and off the field.
But Jake will start at our club next month with an added obligation to prove that he will live within those values in order to fulfil his potential with St Kilda.

Yeah I meant to do that last time. Sorry, I forgot.bigmicka wrote:Can someone please reminder our recruiters never to pick up a player from Essendon.
