What happened to our last 5 pick. Thought we used it on Carlisle and Gresham
It was pick 5 and our second rounder for Jake and Jade. Don't rewrite history. It was basically pick 5 for Carlisle with a little bump up in our second rounder (and we don't know if Gresham would have kept slipping anyway and come through to us at our pre-trade second round slot - little guys are not in fashion)
Rewriting history is calling pick 14 a second round pick.

Spot on. Glass half empty comment. We had 5 and 24. Ended up with 14. Closer to 5 and in the first round. Trade will end up ok. Anything to do with Jake is negative when it comes to Bluthy. Broken record.

Little bump up in our 2nd round.

I'm just saying we started with a first rounder pick 5 and a second rounder (pick 23 according to the maths unless there were compensation picks ahead of us) and we ended with Jake and Jade. So that's what they cost us. I see the sense of it - Jake opens up our premiership window earlier so we use Armo and Steven still near their peak and Jade has great potential.

Alright a good bump up in our 2nd rounder then. Thats still the clearest way to see it. Without using it on Jake we almost certainly would have used it in the draft so Jake cost us pick 5 with a bump up coming back - the recruiters say that let us get Gresh but we don't know how much he would have kept slipping - little guys are not in vogue. We'll never know of course.
.
I was just correcting Bunk saying we got Carlisle and Gresh with pick 5. You need to move on 8856 from this idea I have it in for Jake. Yeah I have some concerns about his maturity and his body and I raise those sometimes - particularly when we first traded him in and all the s*** went down. But I see the logic of what they'e done. Just need him to come through for us now.

Sadly bottom  4. I can't see any of the youngsters making huge leaps forward yet and I'm even concerned about their development.

But are you saying pick 5cwas wasted? This year certainly. Coming years?

After Parish was gone whi would you have chosen as our mid?

Do you think Gresham is no good?

Milera will be an absolute star.

But if it came down to Jake + Jade v Milera - at this stage I am definitely happy with Jake + Jade.

Wont know for sure for two- three years.

It was 5 & 24 for Jake & Jade. 5 became 6 (Aaron Francis) & 24 became 29 (Alex Morgan). Pretty happy with Jake & Jade tbh.

The question I origionally asked was did we not use #5 last season, after he said we better use our next top 5 pick.

We have used pick 3 on Billings, pick 1 on McCartin, and pick 5 on Carlisle and Gresham.

When have we not used our top 5 picks?

Why the ominous threat?

Me too!!!

Also I believe we shall finish 13th this year. But 3 spots either way depending on injury!

Hard to finish that high is we lose our first 5 games due to a tough start.

Sure, it gets easier after that but confidence will take a hammering during April

In fact, looking at our first 11 games there may only be 2 wins eeked out

Bottom four, alot of hard talk in here and very little to back it up other than
'I reckon such and such is gonna be a player old Jack'
'Well Brucey your too right and Billings has had two good games in two seasons now, R. Harvey incarnated'

We have been found out. This is where we are at. We all got pumped up last week but the reality is Port are sh*t.
Now can we put the rose coloured glasses away for a while?
The fantasy that all our young guys are going to be stars and we just have to wait a few years to be top 4 again is a fantasy. We are miles off.

Yes and we need use them wisely. We should have kept pick 5 and used it on Wayne Milera and then picked up a mature defender like Adams.
God I hope Freeman comes good. We need him badly. An another 3-4 A graders on top of that. And god we need Carlisle to be good.
