A lot to like about Gresham

Post: # 1614046Post cwrcyn »

In such a difficult environment for a first year player, I though he did very well. Loves the contest and has excellent awareness. A couple of howler turnovers like most of his team mates, but the signs are good about this kid

For sure, this kid is going to be a ripper. Doesn't give up, despite his limited tank.

After being quiet he had a real purple patch in the second half where he just kept finding the footy. For me thats a really good sign that he can go to that level - the same way Acres has shown he can dominate in patches. It means they have a really good upper limit. I'm hoping he just hasn't found his range yet with his passing as I think he is spotting the right decision to make but just not pulling it off at high speed with rubbery legs and AFL pressure. He can stick tackles too despite his size.

He ran himself into the ground today. Love the way he finds space. You could see it from the first minute of the intra-club game. Both he and Billings read the play so well. His kicking has been disappointing in all games for a guy that won the draft camp kicking accuracy test but it's v early doors yet. He's already rotating through the middle so he can use his ability to find the ball and that first 5m burst he has. A couple of seasons work on his upper body and endurance and we may have found an A grade midfielder.

He was one of the very few bright spots of the day.

It was wet in the 2nd half and he wasn't on his pat malone re: foot skills

Will learn from it and get better - thought he showed up a few more experienced players today in terms of desire

Glad he found plenty of it. Maybe a bit wasteful but you could never single out a bloke for that on a day like today. Hopefully runs rings around the bombers next week.

I'll always cheer 2x as hard for him knowing what we coughed up in the Carlisle trade.

Go get 'em, Gresh.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

So easy to rubbish a kid when he has been involved in an old fashioned flogging. A big thumbs up to Jake, though, after a deplorable start for continuing to get his hands on the ball when his team mates couldn't. Nothing to lose but plenty of confidence to gain for him from today's game.

Glimpses of brilliance. Did a couple of lateral moves that were absolutely A grade.
I like the look of him.

A great effort today by Gresham, but very poor kicking skills were a big let=down. To be a good player, today's footy requires top kicking skills, as turnovers cost the team dearly.

Our Recruiters have crucified the Club in selecting players with poor kicking skills, for many years now. When will they be held accountable !

I think Gresh can kick but he was a bit panicky/rushed at times. Probably understandable given then there were usually 10 Eagles swarming around the ball and few if any saints running to space. If he is still turning it over after 30 games - then it will be a real issue.

Haven't seen him kick more than 40 yet

He, Dunstan and Ross constant chip and look for 30m kicks

Would you prefer the long bombs to the opposition?

The right kick is the one to the best option, whether it's 15 mtrs away or 50 mtrs away.
