Acres
AS we near the midpoint of the season, Blake has probably been the biggest disappointment for mine.
Some will argue he may not have had as many chances in the 1s as we would have liked, however the reality is he was played 1 good game in 3 seasons of football.
I really hope this kid comes on. Think he has the goods, just cant seem to break into the team with a consistent string of form.

It doesn't help being dropped every second game.MC Gusto wrote:AS we near the midpoint of the season, Blake has probably been the biggest disappointment for mine.

He needs a patch of 3 or 4 games in a row.

Re: Acres
He will be fine. According to Huddo he played well last week found plenty of it, just needs to work on his ball use. Blake is a work in progress but will be worth the wait

Re: Acres
Your name defies your honest and true opinion. Less than a month ago Acres won a Rising Star Nomination and was close to B.O.G. then did little the following week against Norf and was relegated. He IS still learning how to play the level of consistent football required to be a top-line contributor. He'll get there, the Club knows this and are making him develop every facet of his game rather than to be thrown to the wolves every week in ALF team.Impatient Sainter wrote:He will be fine. If Acres were a Hawthorn player he would be undergoing the same course of development that StKilda is taking him.

Re: Acres
I think the club knows that he has talent, but may take a while which is why they gave him such a young contract for a young player not yeta regular.

Re: Acres
Joey said that in his younger days, he was in and out of the team.
Look at him now.
Every player does it.
No big deal, it's called 'learning'

Re: Acres
No doubt he has talent to burn, but it takes more than that. Problem at the moment is that his worst is unacceptable to poor and that's why he's in and out of the team.Goose is king wrote:He needs 10 games in a row. He is a gun. I feel like he is Richos scapegoat.

Re: Acres
With virtually no injuries it would be idiotic to reward poor performances week after week with a senior gig, especially when others are pushing for selection playing for Sandy.

Re: Acres
I'm a big Acres fan but sick of this 'needs 10 games' and the 'doesn't help getting dropped every second week' crapola.
He's had opportunities and the main thing that hasn't helped has his poor performances his last two games.
Need to take your opportunity. The great thing is he is now dominating VFL which is a great result.

He didn't dominate last week, was Geary like with his ball use!Goose is king wrote:No capiche.
Every time Acres plays for Sandy he dominates. He is the one who deserves promotion most

Then drop Geary for Acres. Only one has upside

& mainly because R Lyon refused to develop the younger draftees. It's goddamn amazing Armo didn't go the way of J Cripps and T Lynch.resaintlee wrote:Armo was another who took a long time to establish himself as a regular player.
