Seb always looked like he needed to get a bigger tank for a senior AFL midfielder, and now he has worked on it, the results are coming through.. I want to see him spend time with a sprinting coach on at the aths track over summer.

Many wrote Hickey off, but it has generally been the case that big men take time to develop, and it was obvious that he had good skills for a tall ruck, and now we see him emerging as an important player- could be that Pierce will be the next one to slowly come along.

I think it is very important for the club to stabilise the team right now and get those guys used to playing as a unit, rather than dropping players in and out. Seb, Acres and Dustan need to be settled as a midfield unit and it will pay off. Gresh will just naturally get better as he is a natural.

I hope the club are putting development time into Sinclair, as I think he has those X-factor skills in a forward line that turn a game, and he just needs to get a bigger tank and a bit stronger.

Seb was always going to be a player, blind Freddy could see that.

It was only the doubting Thomas's on here that couldn't see it!!

Yes, I agree

The only query on Seb was his running... By his own admission he was too slow and lacked endurance. The same hurt Armo early doors, is hurting Dunstan and spelled the end for Arryn Siposs

It's the difference between 15ppg and 25ppg

This. Sinclair knows instinctively how to read the game. Knows where to be to get the pill, and how to move to get through traffic. Reacts quickly as well. Have noted he has a bit of agro about him as well - I like that..........

I think Sinclair needs to shed a KG or 2 and improve his running capacity. Only then will he make it. He's a chunky kid.

Remember the days people thought (maybe me too) "you can't play Armo, Ross and Dunstan in the same side"?
Aahhhh, last year.
Ross is jet at times now. Bigger tank and off he goes.

That's not true

He was being questioned by many people. Many wanted him a part of the Carlisle deal.

While he was plying his trade at Sandringham he was seen as a list clogger by some.

That is fact.

Whilst those people not having much of a clue is also pretty obvious.

Correct....... Some were very vociferous in their criticism of Seb and often posted about trading him out a number of times even before last season when the Carlilse trade was being mooted. From his first season with Saints some posters were questioning his abilities.

And, if Sebbie has a loss of form or a time when he seems to plateau, I'm sure they will be carping again.

I didn't post my doubts on here but I was worried about his ability to cover the ground at this level. I have been stunned by improvement in his pace off the mark and tank to keep getting to contests.
To me, it's a Sam Mitchell level improvement. A real credit to him.

I'll admit, I totally wrote bigmart off countless times in the past and never thought he could string together multiple well thought out thought provoking posts such as this, saintsational's biggest improver

I'm not denying that his ability was questioned...
But there was no overwhelming push to trade him to Essendon.

Some may have suggested he could have been the steak knives in the Carlisle deal... But it was just that. Steak knives.

You can't call him a list clogger and in the same sentence suggest ppl thought he had overwhelming value in the trade market.

A few forumites linked him to that deal because of his cousin like most former Saint supporting players get linked to us e.g. Sloane.

There's no need to re-write history

Ah yes

Because he is Jobes Cousin?!

Amazed he isn't at Essendon...

I don't even know who you are... So anything about footy could get you my nomination for that award... However, because you post was just a smart arsed pointless jibe aimed at me, it won't get you the gong.

Don't confuse
Believing something is not good because you don't like it
With
It actually being true

Our history from 2012-2015 suggest many of my 'negative' posts questioning the club... It's development and strategic decisions were very ordinary from 08-12
Most accept that now anyway

I never understood the rubbish about Seb and Essendon. Essendon had their shot and CHOSE Elliott Kavanagh ahead of Seb. He owed them nothing.
In any case who would want to go and be someone elses 'little cousin'? Noone wants that. Same goes for Jack Riewoldt. These are grown men who want to make their own names at their own clubs. Not be someone elses cousin.

I don't think it's really based in reality.

It just amuses me that someone wants to take credit for it

If "our history" is Saintsaitional's then there would not have been a day most likely in its history when some poster would not have questioned something. Yet despite this you have the view that you are somehow unique in questioning various club decisions. You are completely blinkered in this regard.

Some thought the Ben trade was bad.

Some thought that Hickey was weak and could not be the No 1 ruck.

Some thought the Carlisle trade was bad. But Gresh and Carlisle may well be better than Francis and Morgan.

Some thought that the strategy that Pelchen put in place was balmy. Though the list does seem to be humming in the right direction now.
