Give them everything we've got this year and next. NF is absolutely worth it. Hope it's true that he wants to come to us. We'd win a premiership with him.0
A draft pick is a gamble. You're relying on the recruiters to pick someone with potential.
They would want Acres who has won a Rising Star nomination, and he is showing that he could be a great big-bodied mid; plenty of upside, still very young, and not a gamble, pretty much a certainty.

Billy Barrot
Worst trade ever, I challenge anyone to come up with something worse......gave Ian Stewart away to get Billy Barrot.....Stewart went on to win a 3rd Brownlow at Richmond, Barrot played 2 games for us, did his knee, never to be seen again.....ouch!

Russell Greene to the Hawks for two very ordinary footballers.
Barrett got cleared to the brownbaggers after two very ordinary games for us.

Off The Table as far as I'm concerned. This kid could be the next Fyfe and is the most promising of our young players, more so even than Gresham IMO

Does Silvio Foschini count?
Steak knives in the Paul Morwood deal (although I did sport Silvio 6 Foschini on my duffel coat for many moons). I miss duffel coats, not just mine but looking at other people's...
Back to OP - please get Fyfe. That is all.
The two Phils - Narkle and Cronan ................... And dazzling Darryl Hewitt and big Doug Cox

Those years never existed.
They are a figment of your imagination because you believe years should be in numerical order.
You even think you are 8 years older than reality.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Imagine St Kilda trading out Nick Riewoldt in his prime.
The supporter revolt would bring down the board, the CEO and the coaching staff.
The only way Fyfe will be leaving Fremantle is if he demands it and then the supporters will unhappy if he is traded for only 5 first round draft picks.
Tony Lockett and Barry Hall both demanded to leave St Kilda.
Ian Stewart had been in front of the courts too many times and at the time Billy Barrott was thought to be a not so good but reasonable replacement.
Oh so wrong.

Treloar should have been pursued ahead of Fyfe. He's averaging 30 possessions, is only 23, he's quick, tenacious, provides run and carry. What's up with our recruiters?

Treloar would not come to us.
Not on last years results.
This year he is regretting his choice of Collingwood.

i don't have hamill or gehrig as a superstar coming in. gehrig became one when we moved him to full forward.
hamill very good, but not superstar status. but probably the closest as he was one of carlton's best when we got him.

True Believer wrote:What have I missed - where has it been said that Fyfe is coming to us?
You havent missed anything. Fyfe made a comment that he was wanting to see what freos strategy was before he re signs for 2018. People have then leapt about ten steps and claimed we are going to get him.
Its crazy talk. We are zero chance of getting him for a number of reasons.

Treloar is a good player, but not even in the same conversation as Fyfe. Who cares how many possessions he's racking up? Bontempelli is showing there's far more to the game than 35+ possession games. Fyfe is taller, stronger and just heaps better. It's the bull type mids that win games, ie Dustin Martin, Patrick Cripps, Bontempelli, Kennedy, Hodge etc
Cant we take Fyfe next year as a free agent and then Freo will just get compensatory first Round Draft pick the equivalent of there first round draft pick next year which will be low (probably around 1 to 4) - like what happened when Goddard left us and when Frawley left Melbourne and they got pick 3

Aka Carlisle and Freeman
Here's the hot tip
JOM
Hurley
Steele
Leslie
I will be surprised if we don't land two of those names.
