Moorabbin Development is A Go!
Our beloved lone protester has withdrawn her objection against the development, the Herald Sun is reporting. Matt Finnis is quoted as hoping the new facility will be ready for occupation in time for the 2018 season. The news just keeps getting better and better down at the saints. 31,000 members, ahead of even the WB at this stage. It would appear this administration really has its s*** together. Go saints! I'm excited! ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: Moorabbin Development is A Go!
ST KILDA’S return to Moorabbin is a step closer after the withdrawal of an appeal against the ground’s $29 million redevelopment.
An application lodged in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal by a local resident was dropped this week.
The Saints hope to shift out of their Seaford base in time for the start of the 2018 season.

Re: Moorabbin Development is A Go!
Although I'm pleased by the move back to Moorabbin, I am VERY disappointed that they want to pull down the Huggins Stand - look at that great photo; that's the heart of the memories of the ground.prwilkinson wrote:
Surely, there is enough space at the ground for them to build whatever swish stuff they like IN ADDITION to the Stand, which still would be a useful and functional facility for the ground.

Re: Moorabbin Development is A Go!
Agree it would be ideal to keep the Socisl Club stand (as I call it!) but the maintance cost
would be to high IMO and we don't have much mulla.
I wonder why shyte for brains withdrew her objection?
Maybe a bit of hush money to STFU and go away.
Well done Mr Finnis (or whoever made it happen!)

Apparently Finnis bribed her with a lifetime supply of mung beans, purple hair dye and a self orgasm workshop.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Re: Moorabbin Development is A Go!
While you're right it's the only thing left there that that is a reminder of our history. The other stand is gone, the brick wall has gone, the scoreboard has gone. With the Huggins stand gone it's really just another oval.BigMart wrote:The stand is hideous. So run down, and outdated, it's rubbish.

Agree. Time to start fresh. Even letting go of the last few years. This new group are the Phoenix rising from the ashes of our unsuccessful past. Time to start anew.BigMart wrote:Not exactly a history worthy clinging on to, better to forge ahead.
