Last time Melbourne beat us...
A lot has changed since 2006.
John Howard was still PM. George Bush was still President.
The mining boom was still in its early years
You could get 6.25% for a TD.
Geelong were a rabble and had not won a flag, yet
Social media like Facebook and Twitter hadn't taken off. Instagram and Snapshat weren't even ideas.
People were using mobiles for phone calls and texting. Nokia was still very popular and the iPhone hadn't been released.
And personally, I hadn't met my future wife whose father follows the Dees.
PS: Probability wise, Melbourne is not closer to a win with the passing of time as every game is a distinct and unique event. Ie the Gamblers fallacy.

Re: Last time Melbourne beat us...
Wow.
I'd just finished my degree but hadn't started working.
Was single (not to meet my wife for another 5 years)
Still drove an old 84 Fairmont
Lived on the other side of town
The Marvel Cinematic Universe hadn't started yet

Re: Last time Melbourne beat us...
lol.
I always wanted to be a 'chief'. I now feel that I have made it.
I do, remember.
I always forgive you dragit, especially when you sought it.
My comment was in response to Skeptics post but it seems to have stirred you up. Sorry, I'll be more careful next time.
But no problem at all, dragit, all good. As long as you're happy.
Anyway, I thought you worked in retail.

Re: Last time Melbourne beat us...
I don't understand the response or the PM. I have no interest in rehashing old feuds... was just contributing to the theme of the op. Thought it was funny and it caused me to reflect.

btw - What's wrong working in retail anyway prof pav you big snob?
Wow! Loving this. I should come around here more often.
Nothing at all wrong with working in retail. Worked in retail for a few years myself. Pay and conditions are generally crap though (is that offensive because it is true?)..context.
Thanks for the character analysis.
Can I suggest some Gestalt therapy for the old dragit.
Oh, sorry, there I go, being all intellectual again. Gotta stop that.
Enjoy tonight's game and the 2017 season.

Me too, Pav. Age creeps up inexorably. Silent, persistent and unrelenting. First your body and finally your mind. When we're in the Twilight Years maximum security home for the aged, I hope we can recall and reminisce about one saints premiership.

Do you really assume that anyone who doesn't celebrate their academic record on a football chat forums hasn't studied further than year 9?SaintPav wrote:What's wrong dragit..didn't sell enough succulents this week.
