We will know when they play Carlton, Sydney and North.Con Gorozidis wrote:SaintPav wrote:Hawks won't finish on the bottom. It will end up being a pick 5-8 or thereabouts.
North thrashed them in JLT match.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
If we get pick 3 in the draft -what a windfall!
That trade they did was one of the worst for years -OMeagan struggled today and they don't even have a first round pick to look forward to.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
Top three pick?? What would we do? Could do well trading it for say a lower top 10 pick and a second rounder.
Or use it for a top 3 pick.
Or use it for a top 3 pick.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
I think Brisbane and the Hawks will finish bottom 2.
The Hawks may improve but are either old and slow or inexperienced and inconsistent.
There players in the right age demographic aren't performing and 86, 86 and 74 point losses happen for a reason.
They are gone.
I think Carlton will be able to scrounge enough wins

Just use it when we have the chance I reckon.borderbarry wrote:Top three pick?? What would we do? Could do well trading it for say a lower top 10 pick and a second rounder.

All things going to plan we wont get another top 10 pick in the next 5 years. So this might be our last high pick in some time.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
I agree. Hawks % of 65 suggests the wheels have well and truly fallen off. Now they have lost confidence and their aura - I can see things getting even worse.Goose is king wrote:I think Brisbane and the Hawks will finish bottom 2.

Bottom sides will now see them as beatable. Carlton, Swans and North will all see it as a chance for a scalp.

So you think that they still can't finish 14th? That's still pretty crummy.Con Gorozidis wrote:SaintPav wrote:Hawks won't finish on the bottom. It will end up being a pick 5-8 or thereabouts.
Anyway, don't denigrate our win!!!

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
North win. Hawks are 17th.
Next week they have Melbourne. Sydney have Brisbane at home.
Every chance after seven rounds Hawks will be bottom. May it roll on.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
Are they going to implement the lottery pick for the bottom 4 sides this year to prevent tanking?
More of a chance to take the #1 pick if so.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
They looked bottom 2 yesterday , but the week before they looked top 8. Still think they'll win there 7-8 games. Where as Carlton and Brisbane will run out of legs in the second half and be lucky to win many. Sydney will come good hopefully.
I think hawks will comfortably finish above Carlton, Brisbane, north . There's 3-4 others about the same as hawks. So I think we're looking at pick 4-8. I'll go with pick 6

North and Blues both did well for our pick today!
Pies have a good % and so it was better for our pick having the Blues win.

Seems like no one considers Sydney bottom two. Sydney are terrible and put our claim for pick 1 in dangerSuperDuper wrote:yep.. cant see pies finishing bellow HawkssaintsRrising wrote:North and Blues both did well for our pick today!

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
Swans have had a lot on injuries and have been playing a lot of youth. I would expect that by seasons end that they will win enough games to avoid the spoon.Proph3t of egan wrote: Seems like no one considers Sydney bottom two. Sydney are terrible and put our claim for pick 1 in danger
Then again the Swans are cunning b*****s and so may decide to go the supertank now to pick up a first pick and also generate more points with all their picks for Academy (Rort) Players.

Swans have turned up to play today against the Lions. Only quarter time, but looking like a win for them today.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
Melboure v Hawks is a bit of sophie's choice. Melbourne win and not good for our finals chances but good for our hawks pick.
