Josh Schache
Common knowledge up here that Josh Schache is homesick, and will be heading out of Lions at end of season.
At 19 or 20 and a no.2 pick, is he worth having a go At?

Why would we trade for him when we already used our number 1 pick on Paddy?Stephen Theodore wrote:Common knowledge up here that Josh Schache is homesick, and will be heading out of Lions at end of season.

Re: Josh Schache
What we need is an absolute gun of the like of Kelly, Fyfe or Martin. It is that type of player that will now make the biggest difference in making our best 22 better.
We already have quite reasonable coverage of marking forwards (Bruce, Membrey and Roo) including future prospects: Paddy, Marshall and Battle....and even possibly Goddard.
Our recruiters have built good overall coverage of most positions and good overall depth. We have coverage for injuries.
Steele, Stevens and Sinclair have all added to our midfield balance this year. Acres continues to emerge.
Goddard can provide coverage for Carlisle and Brown.
Rice is looking very accomplished as our next small back.
Longer, Hickey and now Marshall provide ruck depth.
Weller, Billings, Wright, Minch, Lonie provide ample small forward options.
We just need a gun like a Kelly, Fyfe or Martin now. That is wat would make the most difference to our future prospects.

I think Saints should go after Martin. He's the most influential player in the AFL

Not suggesting we use a top draft pick, in fact not even suggesting we trade for him, merely asking the question.Proph3t of egan wrote:Why would we trade for him when we already used our number 1 pick on Paddy?Stephen Theodore wrote:Common knowledge up here that Josh Schache is homesick, and will be heading out of Lions at end of season.

Personally I agree with Magnifisaint and would go after Dusty Martin
Re: Josh Schache
Nope. Bruce, McCartin, Members, Battle, Marshall, Roo - Carlisle/Goddard as swing men - we're well stocked with big forwards. A genuine onballer is what we would give up top picks for.

Don't know about that.
I watched the doggies v tigers game last night.
The Bont was the difference and was responsible for the doggies turning the game around in the last quarter.
I would take him before Martin any and every day of the week.

Pierce would be miles ahead of him for a ruck berth.

They probably will...if anyone needs a key FWD it's the Pies, we all know they've got connections, plus plenty of cash once Bucks has gone too!Con Gorozidis wrote:Collingwood should offer him $800k a year for five years.

Re: Josh Schache
Yes I noted that above. But at VFL level he has also last season capably played in the ruck and at CHB. So he could still turn out to play any of them, or all of these positions.saynta wrote:Marshall is a forward.saintsRrising wrote:What we need is an absolute gun of the like of Kelly, Fyfe or Martin. This year. But we are talking of the future and so Marshall may well squeeze Lewis off the list.saynta wrote:Pierce would be miles ahead of him for a ruck berth.

KB wants Paddy at the tigers as he says Paddy is languishing in the reserves and may not be happy with this.sainters85 wrote:trade paddy for a no.1 pick and get schache

Big call to say he is languishing in the reserves. He is currently in the twos to get form and improve nothing more.
