Battle and Marshall will come on and Mc Cartin will keep getting better as Membrey and Bruce fight to improve.
Carlisle can play there too if Goddard steps up to take a key back role. We need class outside ball users that break lines and hit targets.
spot on.
No more L Dunstan/Armo/Weller types that plod along with mediocre foot skills.......we have zero outside quality that can break lines and kick a goal apart from Jack S.
I think our list lacks versatile players. We are way too predictable. Everyone knows our strengths and weaknesses. Everyone knows our line up. Everyone knows our game plan. We have become easy to play against. Even with our so called pressure game we are easy opponents.
Besides Roo, Acres and Gilbo none of our players are genuinely capable of playing multiple positions.
Let's look at the Dogs.
Jong Suckling Bont Boyd Stringer Picken Roughead and Dalhaus can all play more than one position at a decent level.
We need another forward asap.
Paddy is a project player, who may or may not come good in a year or two. But he's a gamble.
Skunk stinks.
Bwoose is now a list clogger and has been since Rd1, 2016.
Averages last year- 10 disposals, 4 marks, 1.7 goals.
Roo is a week to week proposition and who knows when he goes?
The smaller guys like Gresh and Billings are good for about 3-4 goals combined, but
that fiver JB got was lucky, and we can't hang our hat on him to kick a winning score for us, that's insane.

I reckon that if you went back and read through all the list discussion threads over the last several years that the main need identified pretty much always was/is that we need two gun mids. Nothing has changed. This is still the main need.
The Club has basically flagged that they intend to achieve this to by trade/FA and have freed up salary cap to achieve this. If the club does not nail at least one such player in this years trade period then their much touted plan will will have a major flaw.
As it stands they have rebuilt the list to be a good support cast, but are lacking the main act. The most important act.
ie Where would the Cats be without Dangerfield and Selwood?
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
I think people don't see that Billings, Gresham & Acres are going to be gun midfielders when their tanks allow (in a year or two). That in itself wll take us to another level. In fact the thought of those three and their wizardry going forward is mouth watering. People, in a year or two our midfield is going to be really scary to opponents and that's not even accounting for who we may add to that midfield.
Our back 6 is already impressive and so will be our forward line. Contrary to what the 'instant gratification league' may think of Paddy, he will be a gun. Membrey will be solid, Bruce will always be a fierce competitor and we have likely prospects in Battle & Marshall. Lonie is potentially a gun small forward, he has loads of potential and is no better or worse than Milne or Betts were at the same stage of their career.
We are tracking nicely. Sure it'd be nice to play finals this year and win finals, there is no reason to give up on that. However, in the long term scheme of things its not critical, nowhere near it.

He would be a good pick up, would prefer Kelly though!!!!!
would take both if offered the chance.
Floating an idea. Wishful thinking but would GWS take on Armo (nothing against the bloke), Hawks pick and a 2018 first rounder in exchange for Kelly, Hopper/Whitfield and a 2018 2nd rounder? Or is deledio enough of an injury concern for them than having to take on armo as well?
It seems like the team scores a goal about every 10-12 forward entries, maybe even more.
They are taught a rubbish tactic of bombing it in, bringing it to ground.
No wonder Skunk n Man-Bun are flat and ineffective.
"Don't mark the ball!!!"
Until the coaches can let forwards do what fwds are supposed to do, go for a mark,
we could have an AA midfield of Fyfe, Kelly, Martin, Hanneberry, Priddis, Dangerfield, and Selwood,
and we still would score less than 8 goals.
FIX THE FORWARD TACTICS FIRST

Wow. Armo...Look at all the fun the Hawks are having over JOM.
Nobody in their right minds would take a 28 year old with a suspect back.
And you've just made elizabethr very, very angry

nah fair call but we dont really have a lot of currency when you think about it. Big fan of armo and probably best he sits out the year and gets his back right for 2018 tbh. id be giving blokes like NOK, Marshall and Rice a run around.
My genius observation is that we need a gun midfielder. Nobody has ever suggested that before, so lucky I'm here to provide my insight.
In all seriousness, right now when we play poorly the midfield is shown up as being collectively pedestrian, taking far too long to get it into 50, meaning our forwards are fighting a losing battle. Having a better midfielder than Steven would also free him from the tag.
While not top priority, the likes of Bruce and Weller need to be upgraded if we're to really challenge for a premiership in a couple of years.
