http://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader/loca ... b05d88a9f3FIRST Surrey Park landed Lindsay Gilbee, now it has secured Ben McGlynn.
The former Hawthorn and Sydney midfielder will make his debut for Surrey Park on Saturday against Donvale.
Surrey Park president Bernard Tanner said it was hoped McGlynn, who retired after last year’s AFL Grand Final, would be able to play four games to be eligible for the Eastern Football League Division 4 finals, if the Panthers qualify.
Surrey Park coach Scott Hamill said Gilbee, who played 206 AFL games from 2001 to 2012, had committed to playing seven games for the Panthers when it did not clash with his commitments as Sandringham coach in the VFL.
“Lindsay lives locally, he trained with us last year but unfortunately we could not get him on board to play,” Hamill said.
“He would have been training at the club since February and pops down and trains most Thursday nights.”

It is not only great for the club but helps me personally with Lindsay being a VFL coach at an AFL aligned football club,” he said.
