White Winmar wrote:All good points MB, but Bevo and I often wondered what would have happened if the original plan had come off. Ball at 2, WC take Sampi at 3, Shockers take Polak at 4 and we take Judd at 5. Dal Santo at 13, Maguire and Montagna with later picks. Premiership in the making, just add water. I know things may have gone wrong, but I doubt it. Ball, Judd and Dal Santo in the midfield. A flag in 2004-2005 was there or the taking.
When you add Goddard, Roo, Kosi and all the other guns we traded in during 2000-5, it's amazing we didn't win one, Judd or no Judd. He would've been the cherry on top of a very sweet cake. Yes, MB, you're right, I'm still not over it. Not our fault really, just the way it rolls sometimes. It's not as though we missed the Juddster. We were huge fans. Buttersssss was particularly apoplectic when we missed him, but it's all history now.
There is a serious flaw in this scenario.
We took X Clarke at #5 who was a bolter at that pick.
If we wanted Ball, Judd & Dal as our mid group, why did we take the punt on missing Dal by taking X after missing Judd?

I was just having a coffee with Jaxons,
he's not Nathan Burke.
He doesn't really want to get involved in any to and fro
Anything on the saints, he just releases to Damian Barrett

It would be his body having to readjust to a different work load. A new process would be developed. A tweak here an adjustment there. I would reserve judgement until next season as to whether Paddy is boom or bust. From what I have seen I am quite bullish that he will be in the WCE Josh Kennedy bracket.

He came from an elite junior system.
According to Quayle's article Trout was quoted as saying pre draft Paddy was working hard with. a PT.
some people just don't have the endurance capacity no matter how many pre seasons they do.

Yes and how long was he in it for ... and is it the same as the seinors. It is quite obvious that it it is a completely different demand. Adjustment needs to be made.
Timmy Watsons despises us.
He doesnt even try to conceal his bile stewing over when we are winning. When we are losing he is joyous. Actively barracks for the opposition when we play.

We are the blight on his footy career, not our fault he was mentally incapable of handling the rigours of AFL coaching.
Not our fault he got friendly with a Kite.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

He was named father of the year, wasn't he?
Great time management- looking after a family of 4 kids,
while also enjoying the company of a newsreader and keeping her entertained.

He had 15 possessions in each of the last 2 games as well as hauling in 9 and 5 marks in each of these games - not bad for a someone who his supposedly not AFL fit
Super important player for us going forward - only just turned 21 and coming off some fairly serious injury issues
It defies belief that he is getting caned on here - the desirory nature and impatience of some supporters Is stupefying

Finally some common sense...WW I respect the passion in the OP but please. Gone off way too early and if you believe what you say, you owe the Pelican a huge apology

I think he could be fitter, and will need to be - but it's pretty much what I would expect from a big kid in his 3rd season that had had a terrible run with injury.

Interesting.
I remember reading or hearing something quite unsavory about Jennifer once. Only remember it because I was quite smitten at the time. Left me upset.

Sad to see that you drink coffee alone in your two personas Jaxons/WellardSaint.

I still find 1913 hard to swallow; even after all these years.
Yeah me too.
We were clearly the better team on the day.
Bloody umpire could not keep up with the pace of play.
When we went forward he gave them free kicks just so he had less distance to run.
We was robbed.
