Who cares. Rossy can massage his tiny ego as they wallow in 14th. How's the rebuild going, Rossy?
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

I think anyone playing on that pest should have a free hit like in Odis cricket!

Re: Eff ing Ballantyne
Who would have thought Ballantyne would ever resort to sucking opponents in? Likem he has only been practicing his craft for mare than a decade.
And Jack fell for it?
Milney should sue any toe-rag commentator who ever again, compares Ballantyne's antics to his.

Re: Eff ing Ballantyne
The Carlisle incident looked bad initially, but when it was replayed it looked like he had been pushed by another Freo player and had half landed on Ballantyne lying prone on the floor and then decided to give him a bit of a shove. But Carlisle is a marked man because of the Murphy sledge, so perhaps he'll get a week.
The Steven incident looked ok: just a light tap. It might well be deemed low impact.

Surely a shove wouldn't cost Jake a week?meher baba wrote:The Carlisle incident looked bad initially, but when it was replayed it looked like he had been pushed by another Freo player and had half landed on Ballantyne lying prone on the floor and then decided to give him a bit of a shove. Shouldn't do, but then you wouldn't have thought Bakes would have been suspended for seven games purely on the basis of "evidence" given by a Freo trainer.longtimesaint wrote:Surely a shove wouldn't cost Jake a week?meher baba wrote:The Carlisle incident looked bad initially, but when it was replayed it looked like he had been pushed by another Freo player and had half landed on Ballantyne lying prone on the floor and then decided to give him a bit of a shove. The Pest had bumped Stuv, who reached around and tapped him in the belly,
the Pest doubled over and maggot said "You're on report" but 2 nearby Dockers, knowing it was just staged, did nothing to Stuv
and just looked for who had the Sherrin.

The umpire saw what he did and gave the pest a free.
If it were punishable then the umpire should have reported.
The umpire did not.

Re: Eff ing Ballantyne
There were two separate incidents. And the Freo players certainly went after Carlisle!WellardSaint wrote:It wasn't Jake, it was Jack Steven.longtimesaint wrote:Surely a shove wouldn't cost Jake a week?meher baba wrote:The Carlisle incident looked bad initially, but when it was replayed it looked like he had been pushed by another Freo player and had half landed on Ballantyne lying prone on the floor and then decided to give him a bit of a shove. I agree that the one with Steven was staged. But it was a punch and Jack does have a bit of a record...

Re: Eff ing Ballantyne
I don't know about anyone else, but seeing the boys get stuck in during that bout of pushing and shoving, gave me a lot of heart. It's about time we stood up like that when playing interstate! Ballantyne? Absolute turd; pure and simple as that!

Re: Eff ing Ballantyne
Jake will be fine.
Based on previous years Jack S should be too, but given the crackdown on gut and jumper punches this year it could swing either way. But I could see it just being 1 down to fine (hopefully)

A small fine for Jack Steven.
A massive fine for Ballantyne's acting.

Ballantyne seems past it. No influence on the game. Walters kept Freo alive.
