This forum is awesome!!!
Yesterday whilst you lot were either at the game or watching on telly I was stuck in a tropical paradise by the pool drinking cocktails and playing water polo (it was 30 degrees but raining a bit!) and the only site that worked well was this one.
I asked for score updates which were obliged straight away. Soon enough I knew what was going on and could relax knowng the game was in the bag early. Had. Some quality family time during the match even!!
Big shout out to Wellard who sent 5 PM's of score updates!
And as for the resort - Club Med Bintang near Singapore- if only had the Australia Network and it would be perfect!
Another question - does Foxtel Go app work overseas? Can I watch live footy on that maybe?? I didn't try it yesterday but will be here for the Bombers match on Friday.

That involves buying a pass as it's not free overseas (even for Telstra customers like me!)magnifisaint wrote:Stream it on your phone using the AFL app
The free wifi here is 512kb/second. I can pay $8 a day for 5MB/second

i have done it from overseas - consider that a general admission ticket is $25 and pretend it is an away game!saintspremiers wrote:That involves buying a pass as it's not free overseas (even for Telstra customers like me!)magnifisaint wrote:Stream it on your phone using the AFL app

Re Foxtel Go, you'd need to use a vpn to pretend you're in Australia for it to work. I'm overseas at the moment, but fortunately most games are on the Australia Plus channel.
There's also the CrownBet app, but I haven't managed to get a stream going through it.

Re: This forum is awesome!!!
When overseas I will normally use https://www.watchafl.com.au/
This site has worked well in when I have been in of England, France, Germany, Italy and Thailand. Years back the streaming could be slow and grainy, but the last couple of seasons it has always been good for me. You do have to pay.
For Australian sites you will need to use a VPN make it to think you are still in Australia, and even then this may not work. This also applies if you are using streams that originate in Australia.
When I am travelling I normally do not want to stuff around with whether the site I am using will work or not as it may mean watching at 7am local time, or I might be dashing back from being out. So I pay a few bucks and get https://www.watchafl.com.au/
As mentioned by Winmar. I have also sometimes been able to use the Australia Plus Channel when in Asia. However if you are changing hotels, you may find the hotel you book into lacks that Channel.

I'm off on a rtw trip in a fortnight. Will be in china/Mongolia for two months first up. Anyone been to china recently and have any troubles accessing afl related sites? Concerned that they will have blocked SuperCoach as it's a herald sun site..

Was a huge PITA.
Gave up by the second day.

We should tell them to allow footy streaming or they can't buy property in Australia anymore.
Sounds fair!
