GEELONG v SANDRINGHAM (12th v 10th)
LAST TIME THEY MET – Geelong (15.9.99) vs. Sandringham (15.11.101) – 2016 Round 9 @ Simonds Stadium
Geelong fought early against Footscray, but succumbed to a 6.8.44 to 16.10.106 defeat under the lights at home. Down by 18 at quarter time, and 13 at half time, Geelong would have backed themselves to bring the fight to the Bulldogs in the second half. However, they could not keep pace with the reigning premiers, and only scored 3.1 for the half. James Tsitas (32 disposals, 11 marks, five clearances) was the top possession winner for the Cats, while Sam Dobson was the lone multiple goalscorer with three straight.
Sandringham recorded a very impressive victory against the then-ladder leaders Port Melbourne, 9.13.67 to 11.9.75. It was a complete team performance, with nine individual goalkickers for the day and a very equal spread of contributors in the middle. Luke Dunstan (28 disposals, seven clearances) and Blake Acres (26 disposals, seven clearances) were effective in the middle, while American ruckman Jason Holmes had a prolific day with 57 hitouts, four clearances, and 13 disposals.

The missus has a girls night at a friends house.
So i plan to put my 15 month old to bed by 6.30.
Then I get the telly, couch and fireplace to myself and my dog Lenny.
The loungeroom could be a bit of a mess by about 10pm.

Re: VFL Rd 14 Sandringham vs Geelong- TV game
Just had a look at Kardinia Park on Google Earth.
It clearly shows how stupid are the people of Geelong and in particular the Geelong Council.
The ground is jammed up on the eastern side against the main road.
This limits the depth of the spectating area on the eastern side to just 20 metres
There is plenty of room to the west for the ground to have been pushed 40 metres westward before redevelopment began.
Geelong F.C. has not been a major contributor to the redevelopment of the stadium.
The Geelong Council = the land owners, and the taxpayers of Victoria and Australia have contributed the lions share of funding.
Now the jerk in charge at Geelong wants to play finals at a stadium whose capacity is permanetly limited by being stupidly located too close to the main road.
Not very intelligent the people of Geelong.

Wrecking ball Armitage rolls a tackle and rolls into Freeman's legs.
Freeman down and out for the match and maybe for the season.

Notice the difference in the quality of play when players get to play in a stadium instead of on an exposed paddock.

I am thinking how much advantage for player development does playing in a stadium provide.ace wrote:Wrecking ball Armitage rolls a tackle and rolls into Freeman's legs.
