Malthouse? Worth a punt?
If ( as appears to be the case ) Richo accepts the overwhelming weight of opinion on SS regarding his coaching skills, and pulls the pin ("yeah, nah, I knew the game was up when I lost the SS Forum") would it be worth summoning the great Mick Malthouse to return to his first club? The messiah? You betcha! maybe with Harves as assistant with a succession plan in place? ( Mick would feel right at home then!)

For the LOLS i would like to see the reaction across all social media if this ever happened.

Re: Malthouse? Worth a punt?
I did hear him say once, that he saw himself, "at some stage" making a return to the St Kilda footy club. Maybe drop Richo down to assistant coach with a succession plan for him to take over within the next decade? Throw everything we've got at getting Daisy Thomas here on a five year contract? The sky's the limit folks!magnifisaint wrote:Why not. He's available.

Re: Malthouse? Worth a punt?
Spot on, Jiggster. After he'd publicly blasted the club over the Capuano sacking, he rang ROd Butterssss and made a grovelling apology, adding that he wanted to return to the saints to coach the team one day. A homecoming to the club that gave him his start. On hearing that from the HR manager at the time, my impression of MM changed. It was further damaged by his actions over the Milne incident.thejiggingsaint wrote:I did hear him say once, that he saw himself, "at some stage" making a return to the St Kilda footy club. Ahhhhhhhh but IS he? (Nudge nudge, wink wink) it's all been part of a cunning plan to help get him back to Moorabbin!Impatient Sainter wrote:He is well past it. What a ridiculous suggestion.

Maybe Milne could come back as the forward coach too?thejiggingsaint wrote:If ( as appears to be the case ) Richo accepts the overwhelming weight of opinion on SS regarding his coaching skills, and pulls the pin ("yeah, nah, I knew the game was up when I lost the SS Forum") would it be worth summoning the great Mick Malthouse to return to his first club? I don't know why but I always thought those two would work well together.

We could get Malcolm Blight, Scott Watters and Tim Watson as assistant coaches.
Just don't waste the No 1 draft picks they provide.

They could bring him back for a Saints Family Day, where they set up one of those target handball practises connected to a dunking booth.
