Massive 2 weeks for Saints
Looking at the potential ladder after tomorrow, our draw and specifically the other teams around us for the next 4 weeks...8th spot is probably the only slim chance we have of making the finals. That is a very slim chance.
Beat West Coast next week and we'll be even on points with them (assuming they win tomorrow/Sunday against the Lions). We might still be behind them on percentage though).
Beat Melbourne in 2 weeks time and we'll be even on points with them also. I doubt they will beat GWS next round away.
If we win the next two....then we play Nth Melb. We will be favourites for that game.
Then Richmond in the last...we know what happened last game.
Its been a very even and strange season. Anything is possible. Lol.

Re: Massive 2 weeks for Saints
Actually correction.
We beat the Eagles next week and Melbourne loses to GWS, Saints will be on 40 points with Melbourne. We beat Melbourne in 2 weeks then we'll be game clear of Melbourne.
Essendon thumps the Dogs tomorrow then we'll go above the Dogs on percentage.

Season over dudes. Big year next year. Do or die for Richo.
lack of goalkicking accuracy the blame for missing the finals in 2017. Not that we'd do much damage anyway.

Professional Clubs want to play finals and do not stop the want until mathematically impossible.
What type of Club are we?

'Professional Clubs' don't rely on other results to make finals.
I hope the club still have a crack this year but from where I'm sitting it is seaaaaason....OVER.
Now of course I would like to be proven wrong and have egg on my face like those Power supporters who left early last night...

Thanks to the OP for giving me that slight glimpse of hope which will help me through the season's closing games.thejiggingsaint wrote:Well said Colleague!oh when the wrote:Professional Clubs want to play finals and do not stop the want until mathematically impossible.

Yesterdays result changes little for me, I gave up months ago on us doing better than just in or just out of the eight this year- and we live on hope and feel every clanger and bits of brilliance we see.
The boys who were put on the park yesterday must feel just as gutted as all of us supporters - they certainly appeared to do their best and I look forward to our future.

Re: Massive 2 weeks for Saints
It seems odd that the Saints didn't think to have two players goal side of Gray at that last boundary throw-in.mullet wrote:this was answered yesterday they should of protected that lead with their livesoh when the wrote:Professional Clubs want to play finals and do not stop the want until mathematically impossible.

We had plenty of experience there in the back line including the captain.
You would think that of any player to watch closely in the dying seconds it would be Robbie Gray.
One year will be our year
