Re: What happens with #12?????
"retire" the number for a season? Or do other colleagues feel that it should be treated just the same as any other number? I guess Roo himself would look at it that way.stonecold wrote:With Rooey going, what does that club do with the #12 Jumper?????

Continue the tradition of presenting the number to a young player.Stewie gave his to Kosi, Lenny to Dunstan.
Maybe McCartin, Battle or Marshall.

As facetious as this suggestion is, I actually don't think it'd be a bad idea. It would be a lovely gesture and also give the lad some incentive to try to fill some very big shoes.Linton Lodger wrote:Paddy's

Isn't that what we already tries with the number 4 And he rejected it?Sainternist wrote:As facetious as this suggestion is, I actually don't think it'd be a bad idea. It would be a lovely gesture and also give the lad some incentive to try to fill some very big shoes.Linton Lodger wrote:Paddy's

Paddy has enough pressure already with the No 1 mantle. Let's not increase his burden by having him wear No 12 as well.

Re: What happens with #12?????
My son wears number 17 for his under 10 team. He said on Momday when he heard the news that he will wear number 12 for his remaining 3 games this year and then wear it full time from next year.
Ironically no one wears the number 12 in the team lol

Re: What happens with #12?????
There are a few special numbers at the club - 35, 4, 3, 23 are the ones that come to mind. For me the #12 sits alongside #4 in importance for the club.
Up to Nick, it's his number and his choice. Shouldn't be out of the standard rotation beyond 2018 though.

- dye his hair blond
-marry a blonde Texan beauty (or make Miss Brownless get US citizenship- she's blonde, yeah?)
- get rid of the diabetes (how hard can it be, just stop eating processed sugar, right? )
- get his cousin to sign up for the Tigers

Re: What happens with #12?????
Nathan Burke gave #3 to X man
Frawley gave #2 to Tony Brown, who got to play about 80-90 games?
disappeared into a mist...(unless he is tony74 but he wasn't born in 74))
- although he works at Seaford as Player Development manager or something?
I am guessing on games because it's dinner time and I am too lazy to look it up.

Re: What happens with #12?????
Numbers come and go. The top players are always remembered by their numbers - 12, 4, 35, 3, 5 etc. but there are very few of them. Let Nick decide who he would like his number to be passed on to next year and then it goes into normal player rotation.
