Cutthroat Jake Facing "Striking" Charges
So that pissant of an umpire reported Jake for giving that North player a shove to the chest area. Reported him not once, but twice.
Fair dinkum! This has become ridiculous. Apparently the strikes aren't punches that are worthy of a suspension, but he's likely to be fined. FFS, this just seems to be a form of revenue raising by the MRP. Do the funds go towards their end of year Christmas piss-up or something?

All a report means is that the MRP have to review a particular incident.
They can throw it out if they wish.

They'd need more force than the alleged shove, to throw that one out!
I think you're pretty tough, don't I?

If they seriously want to stop ALL punches hits bumps not in play then start paying evey one of them. Pay all the retaliation bumps YES. IF theyre going to be that PC then do it ir not at all. Every stoppage a player shoves out of a contest.

That North P###tah should be charged with acting.

Re: Cutthroat Jake Facing "Striking" Charges
If he punched him he'll get done, incredibly stupid if he did, everyone knows the scrutiny punches are under by the AFL at the moment.
If he didn't punch him then he'll get off.
Pretty simple, no need to get all hysterical about it.

It's in the AFL's best interest that Tigers make Top 4 - 1 week - Saints to get shafted ......... again!!!

wasnt even a punch, really.Enrico_Misso wrote:That North P###tah should be charged with acting.

More of a forceful shove to the top of the chest, but the Norf numpty grabbed his throat,
what a weak attempt at acting.
Don't the MRP ask the club doctor for a report?
What's the doc going to say- "patient suffered severe bruising to larynx area..."?
the doc should be deregistered for submitting a fake medical report.
I'd be stunned if Jakey even gets a fine. He'll get off if there's any justice.
Maybe the Norf guys had a go at Jakey for injecting and/or possible snorting on video...getting under his skin?
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Re: Cutthroat Jake Facing "Striking" Charges
If this comes to anything we should take it to appeal and highlight the North player's atrocious staging. You can see if you watch the whole thing that he is taking the piss.
He should get a week for bad acting and wasting the judiciary's time. I'm serious.

Should have kicked him in the face, cos that's ok.

2 North guys moving toward him, initiating the contact... he puts his open hand out to stop McDonaldsatchmo wrote:Should have kicked him in the face, cos that's ok.

AFL scapegoating Carlisle again, easy target for them
Beople have been doing jumper punches for years, now they decide they want to crack down.. lets make an example of Carlisle
Imagine it was Hodge who does the exact same thing week in week out ... think they would have reported him>

Re: Cutthroat Jake Facing "Striking" Charges
Laughable report.
McDonald should be ashamed, I don't like it when Lonie acts like that or any other player and they should definitely start dishing out one week suspensions to players who do it… it's a blight on the game.

Re: Cutthroat Jake Facing "Striking" Charges
How about the 50 against Seb Ross in the first quarter.
I very seriously considered making that game the last game of AFL footy I watch. Just farcical. What a crap bunch of rules we have, devised and administered by a bunch of incompetent twerps.

The 50 paid against Acres in the first quarter against Melbourne was worse and it was what got Melbourne going and ultimately cost the game.carn_sainter wrote:How about the 50 against Seb Ross in the first quarter.

I watched closely on the replay and what happened was the umpire awarded a free to a Melbourne player just outside the 50.
He then realised that he had awarded the free to the wrong player, and the first player handballed to the second one about 10 meters away.
Acres thought that the player had played on from the free and tackled him, and was then given a 50 metre penalty and a certain goal from the goal square.
This was appaling umpiring!

Re: Cutthroat Jake Facing "Striking" Charges
McDonald should be charged with instigating a melee.
If you watch the replay, as Brown is walking in for his shot at goal after the siren, you can see McDonald mouthing off and Carlisle (about 5 m away at this stage) turn around and go back towards McDonald. By the time Brown has hit the post, they cut back to Carlisle and it looks like he is starting the push and shove, but all he is doing is retaliating to the verbal.
For all the sh*t Jake copped over "Murphygate", it will be criminal if he gets weeks for the altercation.

Re: Cutthroat Jake Facing "Striking" Charges
Nobody seems to realise he is facing two seperate charges.
You all talk about McDonald, what about the alleged hit on Mountford?
No footage available, did anyone see it?

Re: Cutthroat Jake Facing "Striking" Charges
In regards Carlton I notice the Hawthorn Coach has passed comment on their antics
Imagine if St Kilda responded to the media in the same way
The AFL of course have their favourites from Corporate buddies, to sides with large memberships, to Clubs the media reporters support and give press to and the interstate Clubs they support financially
The main driver is press, because without publicity the code wanes
Then there are the Clubs which just make up the numbers
