Ladder watch - Round 23
To stay above the dogs we need to be within about 6 goals of Richmond.
If we lost 63 to 100, we would stay ahead of the Bulldogs.
At quarter time the Demons are down 41-9. If scores stayed the same we would need to win by about 106 points to get past the Dees.
If each quarter goes like the first, that is Pies win 164 to 36, we only need to beat the Tigers by 10 points.

Re: Ladder watch - Round 23
Needed to beat Melbourne at least once, needed to beat Essendon, needed to beat West Coast round 2 when we were 6 goals ahead.
Personnel missing all season - No Freeman, Dempster, Goddard, 1 and a half games from Armitage (and not since round 2), Paddy being out for the majority of the year, and Fisher retiring at the end of last season has been disastrous too.
If we win tomorrow we have actually done well to win 12 games this year. That is where I thought we would sit at the beginning of the season. Winning 60% of our games is a fair return under those circumstances.
BUT, we need to add elite talent, not depth. Josh Kelly and Jake Lever - pass on our first two draft picks and make sure it happens.
And goal kicking practice over the summer.

Re: Ladder watch - Round 23
A 20 goal win tomorrow gets us past Melbourne. I'd say impossible but we're playing Richmond.

Same scenario as last year against Brisbane. Percentage to cost us again.kosifantutti wrote:A 20 goal win tomorrow gets us past Melbourne. I'd say impossible but we're playing Richmond.

Re: Ladder watch - Round 23
also the first north game 47 points up and let them score and Geary said we don't worry about percentage.
