Re: Coaches Votes 2017
It is nice to see. Let's break it down though. 1 player gets BOG then you vote for second and third best and then you start to give encouragement awards. Did Longer get votes because he beat his opponent convincingly, or did he get votes because without him on the ground the result would have been different? Are they actually votes for impact on the game result?loris wrote:Isn't it 'noice' to see some of Saintsational's whipping boys getting coaches votes: Luke Dunstan, Billy Longer & Jack Billings?saintbrat wrote:Well done Jack Steele

Did Longer have an impact or did he work really hard and play his 'role' really well? Did he have more of an impact than Billings or Sinclair? I know all this type of voting is subjective, and we all know some of the best champions of the game missed out on popular awards because it's all in the eyes of those who vote. But sometimes...
In my opinion, votes from coaches, especially the 2 and 1 votes, are a 'well done' encouragement, rather than a genuine best on ground appraisal.

Re: Coaches Votes 2017
well it's likely that one coach gave 4 votes to one of them, and the other got two votes from both, whilst billings got 3 from one. so none of that fits in the category of encouragement votes.Scollop wrote:It is nice to see. Scollop in your opinion, enough said!!!!!
Your opinion more important than AFL Coaches?????
No encourage votes at this level, nice try, if you don't want your slice of Humble Pie, just express your opinion and say 'No'!!!!!
Billy is our Ruckman, based on the opinion of those that matter!!!!!

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn
