Re: Saints didn't 'walk the walk'
I thought their review of our season seemed fair, but then they finished it off in completely moronic fashion in making a prediction for 2018 before both the draft and the trade period. Nice work from the Goons!

In Springfield, they are eating the dogs. The people that came in, they are eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Saints didn't 'walk the walk'
Where was our 'walk' against Melbourne four weeks ago?
Where was our aggression out on the field ?
Where was our toughness?
Seems like the Saints are all about media and pr spin.
We talk a big game off field but we can't back it up when and where it matters.
It should be called out and the coach should be called out on this.

Damien Barrett should be getting the wooden spoon for the AFL media awards. What an absolute bum!

Re: Saints didn't 'walk the walk'
They got some things right and a few things wrong like Paddy to the backline.
Surprised he didn't hink it was a stupid idea the firt time he heard himself say it.
All I can say is thank god for Lyon and whatever club choose him that he didn't decide to become an AFL coach. He would have been worse than Tim.
Lets bump this thread in 12 months to see how their predictions actually turned out.

Re: Saints didn't 'walk the walk'
Bit silly they made predictions as someone said without this season ending or the trade and draft periods not even beginning yet. Pretty stupid and pointless come to think of it.
C'mon everyone. Barret is one of the best going around in the business. He is a reliable and unbiased source of AFL football journalism

Re: Saints didn't 'walk the walk'
Except for the 2018 predictions which is just guess work, it was hard to argue with what they said. Props paid to Billings for playing better but still needs to go up a gear and to Roberton for a great pick up from the west although I am nervous he hasn't put pen to paper. Geary praised for his role as captain even though it will be a short stint and Big Jake for living up to the hype.
Need to get rid of some players like Minchington, Lonie, Pierce, Wright, McKenzie. Bruce has to learn to kick straight and playing Paddy at Fullback makes sense as it will make it less likely to get concussed as he will be doing the spoiling not get hurt going in all gung-ho. We also need a gun outside mid so with 2 top 10 draft picks surely we can get one

Yep, which means that their predictions aren't worth a grain of salt.David-Lee wrote:Yep big idiots they predicted we would finish in the 8 in 2017! Absolute morons!
Always thought it was better for the media to underestimate us. It's just hype and bs anyway and doesn't mean anything at all.

Re: Saints didn't 'walk the walk'
Pretty sure the experts didn't pick the Saints to finish 4th in 08 and 1st in 09 at end of home/away season from memory. Hope the boys shove it up 'em next year.SaintPav wrote:Yep, which means that their predictions aren't worth a grain of salt.David-Lee wrote:Yep big idiots they predicted we would finish in the 8 in 2017!
