Hawthorn's period of change continues apace with respected St Kilda recruiter Mark Smart taking up an opportunity to join the Hawks as recruiting and academies manager.
Smart will work alongside Mark McKenzie who was promoted to recruiting and list manager after Graham Wright became the Hawks' football manager.

Its just like the real world I suppose, barely anyone sticks around doing same job for the same company very long these days, especially younger people. Those that stick around past 5 or 10 years are now the odd ones out.

I’ve been at the same employer for almost 9 years. I got long service leave after 7 years. Can’t leave now!
