Tom Lynch (GC)
https://www.zerohanger.com/just-in-four ... nch-18415/
Just read we are chasing him with HUGE money behind it.
I doubt he will leave as the AFL will pay for him to stay at the GC.
Personally, he would be a great addition. I know we already have a number of key forwards however how many of them are better than him?
Reality is the forward line we currently have has a lot of work to do or needs a change up and Lynch could be a big help with that change up

Saints in for Tom Lynch
Can members with a passion for list management give me some feed back on this news.
What does that mean for Mc cartin?
Can one play CHF?
That would squeeze Bruce out wouldn’t it?
What are your thoughts Members?
BREAKING NEWS!
St.Kilda has emerged as a major player in the race for Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch, with the club ready to make a significant offer to lure the star forward to Moorabbin.
Fox Sports said they understand the Saints have been in discussions with Lynch’s management and would be willing to gazump any offer on the table from a rival club to get their man.
With plenty of available cap space, the Saints have been vocal about their desire to lure a high-profile target to the club over recent seasons.
New St Kilda football manager Simon Lethlean, as well as recruiting and list manager Tony Elshaug, have already shown intent to be aggressive in their pursuit of Lynch, who’s the AFL’s most sought-after free agent.

Class in the midfield- that's what's stopping us getting further up the ladder, but whoever else we can get that's A grade, then get 'em!

i just hope we ensure we have enough money in the lolly jar to entice kelly over at the end of 2019. that should be our priority.

Re: Tom Lynch (GC)
That would be my preference, too... I mean Lynch gets 2 goals a week on average and will give us an extra goalMC Gusto wrote:Would prefer a gun mid or two.
Obviously a star but surely we see how paddy goes this season prior to going large on a key forward..??
over whoever he’d be replacing in our team, maybe - but a gun mid or two with outside run and carry could make us a 6 goal a week better team (we could kick 3 more goals and have 3 less kicked against us).
(Maybe this thread should be incorporated into the other Lynch thread so that we’re all on the same page).

Re: Saints in for Tom Lynch
I would take him at any cost. He is better than any key forward we have atm. Is still young and a total gun.
Does a club need to facilitate a trade or is it a straight FA move (compensation pick only)?
Its time for Lethlean and the heavy hitters at Moorabbin to earn their pay if we are making a play. He might end up staying or want to move another rival anyway. Still big news though.
Further...it would be nice if the club told us they are making a move (not sure if this allowed), but I would also understand their silence.

I was thinking similarly but about Bruce instead. Paddy will be fine as long as he doesn't get hit in the head.Con Gorozidis wrote:If true..
It shows what the club truly think of Paddy...

Tells me they have doubts about Paddy's head knocks, and Josh Bruce's ability to play at the required level for a sustained period.Con Gorozidis wrote:If true..

The only possible way he will land with us is if we look like finishing top 4 or thereabouts. He will want to go to a club that is a genuine contender or a "big club" .. which at this stage of the season is not us on either front. But as always, the player manager will try and keep us in the mix to drive up the market value, and then when it gets serious we will be one of the first clubs to be knocked out of the race for his signature.

Re: Tom Lynch (GC)
$ = 0
Who cares if we have money NO ONE CARED in the 2017 trades.
Why would it change? Kelly wouldn’t leave for our $
Who would let this guy go? No one. He’s staying put unless one the big clubs with clout, fans and ability to offer a crack at the big one step forward.
Did you see Dusty depart? Nope - money matters very little anymore players want success we can’t offer it. Total lack of any exciting game play.
We have to stop hoping for a Messiah and build draft picks.
Here’s an idea - put that money towards the AFL club with the largest debt....us.

Plus one. Lynch is as likely to come to us as is Michael Jordan.David-Lee wrote:$ = 0

Re: Saints in for Tom Lynch
No chance. And if we did that means mccartin is gone.
What does it matter anyway they have STUFFED THIS REBUILD COMPLETELY.
LONG over BOLTON
MCCARTIN over PETRACCA
BILLINGS over BONT despite dal begging
DUNSTAN over MERRETT
LONIE over C.DANIEL
CARLISLE over CURNOW/HIPWOOD (patience was needed)
GODDARD over MCGOVERN
ALL we cared about was captaincy and nice giys and good interviews forget about football skill attributes needed for the modern game. Nah lets get fat diabetic dudes who are nice. Seriously our team
is screwed.

Mere media distraction (IMHO) from true targets - Sloane and / or Gaff. Need $s in kitty for a run at Kelly for 2020 season.
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

you do realise we had a spare pick for merrett AFTER taking dunstan - which surprisingly you don't use for a worse comparison. It was Acres over Merrett!SMS wrote:No chance. And if we did that means mccartin is gone.
