2018 game day experience

Post: # 1714758Post mr six o'clock »

Footys back .....yeah!!!

Well a wins a win , so that was good
We looked very average at times so fingers crossed our skills improve.
Dixon is a genius
Kick most of your goals from the goal square where its harder to miss .
More food options this year , nice !
You just need to take out a second mortgage to cover your hunger.
Out of curiosity
How many people who use sign language go to saints games.
The controlled explosion as the players ran out .
Is that an OHS issue
I can see some sort of spinal tap type mishap occur to one or all of the team at some stage if that happens each home game .
Can't wait till good friday to see what the shinboners come up with

Just off now to sell a kidney

Thought things were pretty good today....

Liked the fireworks as the team ran out
Having Kosi as ground MC was a great move
Even though they used the new recording of the song, there’s barely any difference to the old version.
None of that “Make Some Noise” garbage
LED signage around the ground seemed a bit more subtle, no more strobe effect
Sign language and subtitles on screen seemed a bit over the top
And most importantly, we had a win....

Well they completely stuffed up food on Level 3 city wing
Outlet next to Moorabbin Wing was closed all day, and the outlet above gate 3 on level 3 was poorly stocked with food and drink several times.

The manager had NFI. Should be fired. The soft drinks fridge was 80% empty at half time!

My brother tried to buy an ice ream before the game (lvl 2) and was offered a single ice cream
When asked why there was only a single one left, the staff member stated 'we had a busy night last night and everything else is gone'.
Interesting that this food outlet, at least, wasn't restocked after the previous game.
I don't know how widespread that problem was.

Yeah I wasn’t a fan at the AFLX and wasnkt a fan here either.

Fireworks were fun and Kosi was fine.

That food vendor on level 3 is always closed for the smaller crowd games, a shame as the food is better than the main vendor (relatively speaking, as the food in general is poor).

Etihad management treats level 3 Moorabbin wing reserved seat prisoners with disdain.

Master stroke playing Chelsea Dagger after each Saints goal, much better than the ridiculous Make Some Noise! As it was used in the film Run Fatboy Run I thought they were sticking it up Paddy after he kicked our first goal. Once it was played after every goal I realized it was not a Saintsational poster in charge of the audio.

Was a good day out at Jihad Stadium yesterday and also a good win to get the season started.

With the new stadium deal in place...anyone have an idea how much $ the Saints made from the 24k crowd?

LOL! Love the Fatboy reference.

Seriously though that gift-giving thing for fans at 3/4 time needs to be better scripted.

The prize that allowed a fan access to the rooms after the game to hear the players sing the song could easily have turned to s***!

After all we were only about 9 points up at 3/4 time., so perhaps that prize should only be presented if we are 30 + points ahead at the time?

Nice touch having Richo do sign language alongside Kosi.

Two points Parkey.

1/ I damn well hope it won't mean more $73000 and counting pay outs by us... to Dockedlands.        :(

2/ I doubt that any new deal will be anywhere near the $825,000 the Hillbillies net from their boutique home games. (Average crowd 26,000.)
