And when we were trading for Carlisle it was Watson that thought Billings would be a fair trade. I love that we got Carlisle, but if it cost us Billings I would’ be devastated.

well I always liked Ross, had all sorts of confidence that Billings was going to be a gun and have been pumpued about Acres since his draft nightbarneyboyz wrote:Don't forget that Blacres was shyte tooHitTheBoundary wrote:It wasn't that long ago that "Billings was a wasted pick" and "Seb Ross is useless".

Fingers are crossed for 20+ games for Paddy
Right now I'm hoping for plenty of game time for Paddy during 2018.
The more game time Paddy can experience the more adaptable & prepared he will be for each week's game day.
Fingers are crossed . 2nd game coming up in a few days.
All the best to Paddy McCartin.

Re: Timid Watson's Incredible Insight on Paddy
Lol. Some football supporters are such impatient and stupid idiots. They expect every draft pick to work out or a kid that has barely played to be getting 30 touches or taking 10 marks or kicking 5 goals every week by his 2nd or 3rd season.barneyboyz wrote:Don't forget that Blacres was shyte tooHitTheBoundary wrote:It wasn't that long ago that "Billings was a wasted pick" and "Seb Ross is useless".

An AFL footballer can potentially take up to 5 or 6 seasons to come good. It might take Paddy this long. He's bit off it, but not that far and is only 21. Still a kid.

Re: Timid Watson's Incredible Insight on Paddy
Yes, Paddy is a bit off, even on what he has shown in glimpses. I can't understand Tim's approach really...it's not that his son took ages to come good...er, well it's not that they didn't find a cure for it eventually...er, best he just sticks to being Lyon's sidekickparkeysainter wrote:Lol. I get some didn't want Paddy over that Melbourne bloke.
And I get some now wish we hadn't got Paddy over that Melbourne bloke.
While it's fair to question drafting someone with diabetes the fact is we did and now he's ours. Let's support the kid.
This video gives some insight into his ongoing battle to play AFL and to reach the top. A fine balance that can affect his fitness and form.

Re: Timid Watson's Incredible Insight on Paddy
Unfortunately, yes. I don't think Paddy has more than a 20% chance of playing 150 games whereas pick 15 in this year's draft would be around 60%.SaintPav wrote:If Geelong approached us at the end of the year and offered us pick 15 for Paddy, would you take it?
I think I would.
Going into the draft with pick 8(ish) and pick 15 would just about finish off our rebuild if we could also land Gaff or Sloane.

Fine young man. He has a heart bigger than a raging bull. Even at just 21 he actually appreciates being an AFL footballer and life itself. He could teach alot of adults out there a lesson or two in how to go about things!!Dr Spaceman wrote:I get some didn't want Paddy over that Melbourne bloke.
