Re: North vs Saints - Round 2
Good call. They will be stuffed plus add in the flying up there and back.
They might be forced to make some changes to give their side fresh legs. We should win comfortably. 1 week at a time though.

Re: North vs Saints - Round 2
This is a must win.
North are terrible.
Even if we end up mid range, this is the type of game that just cannot be dropped.

We're i trouble if we lose games like this, but there are no certainties in football.

Re: North vs Saints - Round 2
The last time we played a team that had a match in conditions similar to those North played in last Saturday we were ten goals down at half time.
...
And still won!!!

Re: North vs Saints - Round 2
We should win by 60 minimum. But what will that prove? Nothing.
Paddy MUST kick 4 and dominate at least somewhat.
Our clearances were bad who gets dropped for dunstan though?
Is Dunstan being dropped have anything with him critisising the coaches?
Someone has to be dropped for last weeks terrible Performance in the middle.
Who?
And if we lose is Richo and co gone? Or will “positive” aspects be enough again?

Imo north will be hard to beat.....certainly not as lop sided as many think....
Teams that lose 1st round have real crack to get on the board.

Re: North vs Saints - Round 2
In the past we would drop this game... I'm hoping we have matured enough not to let it slip. Then two from two gives us some confidence going into a much harder next few games.

Great 5 min vid. Proud of the Saints and our players. Footy ability aside, what a good bunch of guys on both sides.

Re: North vs Saints - Round 2
I honestly don’t believe we are the sort of team that will put any team to the sword - yet. I’m expecting a similar game as round 1. Some good patches , some not so good patches , but we should be good enough to pull away by 3 or 4 goals at the end of the game.
I know lots on here will point to the Richmond game last year but I remember at the time that first half just everything went our way. Little 50/50 contests , the bounce of the ball, blind kicks and handballs, and even miskicks fell in our lap. I also think Richmond players assumed a comfortable win before the game and didn’t switch on accordingly. The second half of course reverted to normal programming and I think we actually were out scored.
I hope I’m wrong and we blow North away.

Re: North vs Saints - Round 2
At half time we were leading by around 2 goals and at one stage in the last we were up by 5 goals so how we were we outscored?
We’ll win this by 50.
The game against the Crows will tell us where we are really at. We haven’t beaten them in 6 seasons.

Do I read this as you are giving reasons, making excuses for a North Melbourne loss?Devilhead wrote:North coming back from Cairns after an exhaustive slog in the wet with less time than us to prepare

We might win because we are the better team
It sounds like you need a seriously powerful talisman to ward off some evil jinx
