Some BS about how the boys are disappointed in their effort and are really looking to turn it around.
The effort on the track this week has been pleasing but it won't count unless we produce on game day.

We trained positively and I am pleased we will bring effort.

I will continue to be conservative with my selections. Don’t expect anything left field. Gilbert for sure ! Don’t worry about kids ... Rice, White, Battle will keep working hard at the zebras. These guys use the ball too well to consider right now.

Our forward line setup won’t change, our forwards will continue to point to where they want the ball, lead only when they can be bothered and as for forward pressure and zones; they don’t exist. Our structures are pleasing. We will get to work on that.

Our mids will crack in for a half. Longer remains as he’s really strong at the ball, just can’t get a kick around ground or win hit outs. Brucey in the ruck has worked for a long time, we won’t change that.

This guy is a very good assistant coach. A battler who lacks tactical nous and any flair.

Back end form against Brisbane?? We fell in against an expected bottom 4 club. Our last 10 minutes were okay. Surely they weren't cocky after that game? They couldn't have been...could they?
How does the coach derive such observations anyway? I can't believe that any player, even if they were ahead of themselves, would admit to the coach that, 'yes, we smashed that powerhouse team The Brisbane lions by a massive 4 goals at home, and we thought that unbelievable form would carry us through to the following week.' Are our players that big headed that they think they can afford to take ANY opposition in this competition lightly?

I know Richo is on a hiding to nothing this week whatever he says, but gee that disappoints me about the whole playing group and particularly the leadership of the group if this is what permeated through

So in the last week he's thrown Elshaug under the bus (with some justification), bemoaned Paddy's lack of fitness(nothing to do with himself of course ) and now pointing the finger at the players. Methinks someone is right under the pump internally and has trotted out some self protective excuses. This just gets worse.
